Exeter Elms is a wooded family type campground. It has been around for a long time and has always been well taken care of. It has recently had new ownership and it is a positive result. New bathrooms have been added as well as upgraded amperage in some sites. They have also improved the store. On our recent stay there were some activities as there always is during the summer season. This campground is a good choice and can fill up quickly during the summer. We look forward to additional improvements.
This is another great review for this campground. The restrooms and shower were adequately cleaned, it was very busy. All staff I spoke with helpful. My son noticed a broken swing in one of the play areas and it was fixed the next day. This is a very well run campground. This is a wooded campground but it is hilly in some areas, although the site are for the most part level. The waterfront site are good if you can get one. That area is kind of tight and open. But good.
This campground is crowded and geared towards seasonals. The transient sites that are available are far and few between. Good luck trying to find out where your site ends and the other begins. This campground is owed and operated by a corporation and I guess they haven't been in the bathrooms or have had to take a shower in them lately. They do clean the bathroom/shower area but some of them are so old it just doesn't help. We were lucky I'm told in my area as far as the bathrooms go. But my friends had to had to enjoy the septic system being pumped out in that area while they had their breakfast. The pond is green with a nice beach and big slide, my six year old enjoyed playing in the area with the outdoor equipment. But we used the pool instead. They have their own restaurant on the grounds as well as a store. There were some activities available. I did find the speed limit a little fast for a campground but it is a big place. It wouldn't be my first choice but depending on what you want to spend there are other campgrounds in the area more expensive. It's a short ride to some great beaches in the area.
This campground is very well maintained. As you can see from the other posts, you can't please everyone. Yes there are some sites that are not level but some are better, hence the name Hickory "Hill". We were on a sloped site but made do, you have to give and take. There are some wooded sites towards the back, some others are wide open or semi wide open. Restrooms and facilities are clean and well kept. There is a new restroom/shower area as well as an older one. Activities are available and staff was very helpful. There are things to do in the area. Nice well stocked store. Good choice for families.
My family and I enjoyed this campground. It is within reach of NH White Mountain area activities but not on the main drag. You will find wooded quiet sites along the river. Those sites used to be tent sites but the campground has updated their facilities and upgraded to 30-50 amp service with water. Perfect for smaller RVs and some large. Most sites are private with some trees separating campers, each site has a sandy gravel mostly level site on the river sites. The facilities and restrooms are clean and well kept. Limited activities are available. There is plenty to do in the area as well as a local dirt race track less than minutes away that has races on Saturday night. The campground enforces their quiet time within I think reasonable for everyones benefit. This campground is located in the valley of Tenney Mountain and is off the beaten path but on a main state highway. It is a good choice in my opinion.
