This is a clean campground with great rolling hill views. No kids in the campground when we were there. Mostly large RVs with retired folks. Located in a beautiful area not far off a major highway. Large, easy to manuever sites.
This campground is at the opening to a beautiful state park. I would review it much higher if it weren't so crowded. Sites are very small and tight. The best sites are seasonal regular campers. Our site and several of the other visiting sites are right behind restaurant dumpsters. The stench in the summer was hard to take, so we didn't spend any time outside of our home away from home. A lot of traffic in and out of the campground. Great bike baths once out of the campground though. Close to many amenities. I guess if you are looking for a secluded quiet destination this is not for you. However, if you like to be in the middle of everything then this place is perfect.
The owner and the staff of this campground were extremely rude. Most of the campground is made up of regular seasonal campers. Most sites are in a grassy field. Gravel drive into and around the campground. There is a covenience store on site. Bathrooms are in poor condition and showers do not drain well. Will not stay again.
This is the best camping deal in Virginia Beach. If you are beach lovers this is the perfect spot for you. Many sites within short walk over the dunes to the beach. Some with Bay/Ocean views. Clear view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Next to the military base. There is always something to keep your attention there. Be sure to bring binoculars to watch the military maneuvers as well as the many different boats in and out of the bay. This beach is clean and pet friendly. Lots of shade for tenters. Access is tight for RVs. Some of the restrooms are updated, However, even the older restrooms are cleaned multiple times a day. Park rangers patrol often. Making for a safe, fun destination. I would highly recommend this campground. Best deal on the beach!
