This is a very well maintained, modern campground with easy access from I70. Pet friendly with a very large dog park. The staff is considerate and helpful. The only negative is the almost total lack of shade, but that wouldn't keep us from staying there again.
Definitely not a destination park and pretty much what campers have come to expect from a KOA park in the way of ammenities. That said, it is a nice park with easy access to I70. There is some shade but not an abundance. The pool was one of the most refreshing we've found, especially given that it was 100 degrees the afternoon we arrived. The management was friendly and cooperative. Lots of grassy areas for your dog walks. Would stay again if passing through.
It is evident the management of this park takes a lot of pride in it. They are friendly, efficient and cooperative. This was never more true than during the recent Waldo Canyon fire which caused so much devastion in their area. We had made our reservation about a week before the fire and were concerned about even attempting to get there and if they would be open if we did. We called three times over a three week period for updates and they were always courteous and informative even though they were probably fielding dozens of these types of calls daily. What patience they must have. There have been (and continues to be) significant changes to the park. It is well maintained and monitored. It is pet friendly. There is a separate pool for adults with a hot tub. They are close to attractions and easy to access. We would definitely stay here again.
This is an older but well maintained park. The staff was friendly and helpful. The showers and laundry were clean. The park was pet friendly with lots of grassy areas to walk your pets. Access from I-80 was easy. The only problems were dust and power fluctuations. The hot, dry weather probably contributed significantly to both.
Very nice park that is quite hilly but manageable, and the sites mostly appear to be level. Several sites are capable of accommodating the largest RVs. Staff is helpful and friendly. They enforce park rules to enhance the camping experience for everyone. Great place for children and pets. Fairly well stocked store at the office. Easy access to Custer and Black Hills attractions.
Quiet, well maintained, pet friendly park with friendly and helpful staff. Sites are level and can accommodate big rigs easily. You must use caution upon entering or exiting the park, especially if towing as there can be heavy traffic on highway 34 in both directions, and you must allow plenty of turning space to clear the railings on the bridge leading to the park.
