I rate this park a 10/10. We stayed here for 5 nights. In order to cut down on the reading I will try to put this in Bullet formats: 1. Spaces long and wide. I have a 40 ft RV and an extended cab truck and both fit fine in the space provided. Spaces were gravel but relatively flat. 2. Dual sewer hookups. 3. 50 amp power which worked the entire time; my voltage in the trailer showed 117 constantly. 4. Wi-Fi was strong but sometimes slow, especially early mornings and late night when everyone jumped on it, but it was FREE and park wide. There were like 6 Wi-Fi sites you could choose from all over the campsite to get the best signal. 5. Kid Friendly. Seriously, this park is designed for kids of all ages. 6. Park is so new that half the sites don't have grass yet, but who cares, they were large and wide sites. 7. Showers and bathrooms were huge, clean, and very strong shower pressure. 8. Outdoor movies most nights. 9. Fire pits at each site. 10. New picnic tables at each site. 11. 20 Channel cable TV, everything you need (except no ESPN. aaagghhh).. 12. Fairly priced general store with most everything you need. 13. The owners were totally awesome. They were friendly and really took the time to try to find out exactly what your needs are. 14. Awesome game room with pool tables, ping pong, shuffle boards, air hockey, pinball machines, puzzles.. They have a giant conference center open 24/7 with great comfortable leather couches and chairs and fireplace and large screen TV. 15. All five of the Yogi Bear mascots. 16. Hayrides every day at 5. Went on one; totally cool to see the 30 acre campground from back of trailer. 17. They have this moon bounce type thing that is huge and totally fun; must be 30 yards long and 10 yards wide (but don't quote me); even at 50 years old and 200 pounds, I had a blast. Sure my knees were sore the next day, but went out there every day and bounced on it with the other kids and folks. 18. Large swimming pool and Jacuzzi. 19. Close enough to Fredericksburg to be convenient (5 miles); far away not to be in the center of traffic. 20. the staff was totally great . You could tell they all enjoyed working there. 21. Military Discount. Price was absolutely great if you take into consideration all the above. Being military (I am in the Army but work with the National Weather Service), I was given a 10% discount. 22. They have golf carts for rent if you are so inclined or physically require one to get around. 23. Park is super clean; great maintenance staff; trash being constantly being picked up. The only drawbacks I have are: 1. Folks travel down the main dirt road to the RV sites too fast and kick up a lot of dirt at your trailer if you are housed near the road. 2. The golf carts seem a little pricey, $60 bucks for two days, $40 for one, but they seem to have them all rented out so I guess it may just be me being cheap. 3. The Jacuzzi is moderate size and comfortable. I realize that this is a kids park, and that's great, but just when I got into the Jacuzzi and got settled a woman brought her two infant kids (2-4 years old) both in diapers into the Jacuzzi, and I just had to leave for obvious reasons (open diapers – warm water – and kids just don't combine well). Other than that – this was a great place and we will certainly be coming back again very soon.

For the strangest of all reasons: we camped here for four nights and three of those nights we were the ONLY folks in sites 1-10. How totally bizarre. This RV park is in the middle of a nice 9 hole golf course. Even if you don't play golf, you can rent a golf cart for $11 for almost all day, to explore the golf course and part of the park. (They tell you to stay off the park roads, but no one really enforced that.) Check in was a breeze and they had some of the nicest girls in the world working the front desk. There is NO Wi-Fi and virtually NO cell signal. I had Verizon and my hotspot was really, really slow. I had one bar the entire time here, but the moment I left the park it went to four bars. My wife has T-Mobile and her hotspot only worked a couple of times. Sites 1-10 are full hookups with sewer: they are large sites. Sites 11-20 are electric and water only and next to a stream. You really need to have a small trailer to maneuver around the trees and stuff to get to the sites. There is a nice pool: it's about 3 feet to 11 feet deep. At one time there were 3 life guards and 6 of us swimmers. There is also a kiddie pool with a water spray fountain inside. Lockhart has the best BBQ in the world: it's only about 5 minutes from the park to this fantastic BBQ. Park has good water pressure. There are some nice trails, but they are sort of grown over so wear long pants if you go hiking. You can pick up about 16 local Austin and San Antonio channels over the air: 8 of them are in Spanish. Sites 1-10 are back in sites but are extremely wide, and very level. I had no problem backing in at all. Each site has a nice BBQ grill, fire pit, and a good covered picnic table. There is a good playground for the kids if you have smaller kids. The county prisoners ( easy to see as they are wearing the old fashioned, striped uniforms) clean the park and restrooms, and they repair things around the park. I was told that they have never had any issues with them at all. I would camp here again in a heartbeat

I won't rehash all the great things like extra long level pads, gigantic spots, fire rings, nice picnic covered shelters at each spot, etc. The spots are all super wide and soooo easy to back into. The spots are so well laid out that Stevie Wonder could back into the spots. This place is a TEN from a physical campsite perspective. Excellent. The workers at the Welcome Center was super friendly (my 17 year old fell in love with the really pretty Blonde working the desk), but they aren't very knowledgeable about the lake itself (like what kind of fish are in there.) All the spots are near water, but you do have to walk through some pretty insect infested brush to get to the water. If you love birds and rabbits and deer and butterflies, and hummingbirds etc., then this is a 10/10 place. While I was hooking up the utilities both a deer and rabbit came right up to me. Here is the bad: OMG the fire ants. I mean they are everywhere. There are mounds everywhere. There are ant trails everywhere. I got so bit so many times that it wasn't funny. I got bit hooking up the utilities. I got bit setting in my lawnchair. I got bit going from the trailer to the picnic table, aaaggghhhh. But the ants were nothing compared to the mosquitos. The moment the sun goes down they are out. And they are our worst then any place I have ever been. You simply cannot go outside for any reason at all, I don't care how well you are covered up. Not one of the campers had anyone outside and not one of them had any visible light turned on or showing. Don't leave any lights on outside: my yellow light on my camper was so covered that you could not even see if it was turned on or not. So if you are the type that likes to sit outside around a nice campfire at night after the sun goes down, this isn't the place. We had lit a fire before the sun went down in order to do smores for the kids. We sprayed ourselves well with DEET and went outside for a few moments to do the smores and just immediately started getting attacked. It was so bad we simply abandoned the food and came back inside. This park has a good boat ramp. The recreation center with the pool and everything was closed down for maintenance though. There is no sewer connection so we bought our blue grey water caddy on wheels. The bad part is that the dump station is a good 1 mile from where the trailer was. (I think that about 90% of the folks simply dumped their Grey tanks into the bushes when no one was looking.) Anyway, a nice park, lots to do during the day, night is like a ghost-town. No stores nearby so bring in what you need.

Park is easy to get to from IH-10. Gravel lot but was smooth and level. Excellent views from the top of the hill. Nothing nearby to obstruct the view. Far back enough from IH-10 to make it difficult to hear any traffic noise. Of the 48 something sites: about 40 of them full of fulltimers. Rear row, furthest away from noise, is reserved for overnighters. Excellent power and water. No cable TV. Only two "English" speaking TV stations on the aerial. Here are the cons. Man, if its windy or if there is a storm coming in: YOU are the tallest structure around! And the wind caused the trailer to rock allot with all the wind. Also, at night, they light this RV lot up like it's LAX Airport. And not with those wimpy 100 watt lights, but with those 10,000 watt Halogen spot beams. I have seen prison yards with less lights on at night. We had to put aluminum foil on the bedroom windows to darken it enough to sleep. Personally, I would suggest that they turn off the 10,000 watt Halogen beams at 10pm and maybe do what every other RV park does: go to a softer, less bright, yellow light for at night. We went to the nice pool. It's not large but was big enough, almost 6 feet deep in parts, super clean and COLD!!! Also there is a giant firepit you can use. Would have given them a 09 if there had been cable TV. The owners live on site in a large house next to the RV site. The woman owner is super nice and she called me twice to make sure that I would be able to find the RV Park and to go over all the amenities prior to my arrival.

If this place had a pool I would have given it a 10+. This park was great. I won't repeat all the great things that the others have said but the sites are level, and large beyond belief. Has great electrical, water, sewer and a nice clubhouse. Here are the cons. How on earth can a RV resort this large and this nice NOT have a pool when the average summer temperature is well over 100. There is not one lick of shade anywhere in this park. Yes there is greenery but only small shrubs. Since each of the sites is on gravel (which is smoothed out after you exit), the gravel serves as a giant heat reflector up into your trailer. I have two large A/C units and could not keep up well at all. Easy on and off of I-10. Plenty to do, eat and see within a mile. Wal-Mart right across the interstate (I can see it from here at the site). Two giant RV dealers border the RV park. Nice 24 hour clubhouse with all the amenities. My question though is that we were here for a solid week and never saw more than 7 other RV's in this place at once. I mean its that empty: each RV literally had its on row. I have no idea where everyone else is staying but if this place had a pool I would have given it a 10+. The check in staff was excellent. The spots are so big I parked my truck beside my 5th wheel with slides out and awning out and still have plenty of room. You could park two Class A's side by side in each spot they are that big. Minus the pool, this is the nicest park I have stayed in in a long time.

Nothing wrong with this campground. It's clean, and out in the middle of nowhere. There is no TV signal out this far. There is no sewer connection. Bare minimum with no shade. Has gravel, un-even pads. Pretty good sized hill you have to go up and down to get to the site. It's clean, just no frills. There are only 13 pull-through sites.
