Great campground for families with kids. Lots to do. However, it doesn't appeal to my wife and me, as we normally like quiet. But like I said, if you have kids and want lots of organized activities, this is a well run machine.
Good base for visiting Biltmore. Friendly and helpful. Earlier postings that mentioned updating the restrooms are correct. Updating would make this a solid 9. Don't drive yourself crazy getting a premium site. There is a public area that you can walk to in the premium site area that has a great view, in my opinion.
Good stop along I-81. Friendly staff. Restrooms were clean. Well stocked store. Leveling the camper was challenging, had to change sites. Pool looked good, though we didn't use it. We would stay again for a stopover.
This is a nice state forest campground in the Jersey woods. Quiet and well maintained. No hookups, but a dump station and potable water are available. Even though I only gave it a seven, that number is quite good for any park in NJ ( although if you were to read some of my earlier reviews, I was overly generous to some other NJ campgrounds). After spending way too much time in NJ commercial campgrounds, I would have to say that the state parks are the way to go and this one is pretty good.
This was our third time to Bluewater and our first time since the change of hosts. The property continues to be first rate and the hosts have stepped it up a notch in friendliness. The staff is always cleaning, fixing and looking for ways to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In my opinion, still the only place to stay in the keys.
We overnighted here on our way to Florida. Easy on/off of Rt 95. Large, level pull through. Minor gnat problem. Clean, individual shower/baths. Nice store. Friendly staff. Although past season, we could tell that the 2 pools seemed very nice.
Many times we have passed by this park on our way to the Bay Bridge Tunnel. We always said that someday we would try it out. Well, we have to say, good job state of Virginia. Clean, quiet, well laid out. Good hiking trails. Lots of attention evident to keeping everything immaculate.
What a great find! We're on our way home to NJ from FL, stopped over for the night. Has friendly staff, great bathhouses, a good rate, accepted my American Express, cable TV and dependable WiFi. It's a good jumping off spot for the local area (Jekyll).
We absolutely loved this place! It is well maintained and managed. There is a great pool. It is only a ten minute drive to the best of Key West yet far enough away to be private and quiet. We hope to visit again in the spring.
Stopped here on our way to Bluewater Key RV Resort. Would have stayed at Pennecamp, but they were doing renovations. Glad we stayed here, though. The folks were very nice. We got site 48, close to the water. Grocery store close by.
The plus side-- well run, good store, nice filtered lake with beach. The minus, fairly impersonal, crowded (granted, summer), nighttime security played "tough guy". Overall, seen much worse, good for Jersey, I guess.
