Park is big rig friendly. Pay at fee station, or you can reserve online. Camp host was helpful in recommending site for us. Some sites do have an incline or are sloped slightly to one side. You should arrive at this park with water tank filled and grey/black tanks empty, as there are no hookups. There are vault toilets, but no showers. There are water faucets throughout the park where you can get small amounts of water, but you're not supposed to hook up your water hose to the faucets. The water for the park has to be brought in from several miles away. Verizon service worked well here. There are trails throughout the park. We saw elk very near our site. This park is approximately 4 miles from the Grand Canyon fee entrance, so it's a great alternative to the pricier full service campgrounds near or in the Grand Canyon park if you can boondock for a few days. We'll return to this park.

We stayed eight days at this park. Rate listed is based on weekly rate and includes tax. The last night, we paid the full rate of $37.91. In the interest of customer relations, if someone pays for a week and then decides to extend for another night, why not just have them pay based on the weekly rate? That aside, we enjoyed our stay at this park. The office attendant and the owners were friendly and helpful. They offer dogsitting services. As others have mentioned, they also offer a continental breakfast each morning, which is a nice touch. We weren't bothered at all by the trains passing by; we rather enjoyed watching for them each day. Park internet worked well. There is a large field at one end of the park where you can easily walk your dog. Park is big rig friendly. Sites are gravel/hard packed dirt, and we had no problem leveling.

Price does not reflect reservation fee, which I believe was $5. Rangers offered suggestions regarding restaurants and things to do in the area. Park is big rig friendly. While we enjoyed our stay at this park, first appearances were that it was a bit unkempt, because of lots of tall grasses. Water and electric are at the sites, and a dump station is available near the entrance/exit of the park. Restrooms and showers were clean and heated. As with most state parks, sites are nicely spaced. Lots of trails nearby for hiking or walking dogs, and lots of geocaches in the area. We used Sprint service most of the time, but would switch to Verizon when Sprint slowed. We'll return to this park.

Rate based on monthly stay, but does not include taxes or electric. Great park, and it's huge. There are many activities to keep one busy, especially during snowbird season. Park is big rig friendly. Most sites are gravel and back-ins, but there are sites along the perimeter of the park that are paved pull-throughs. All sites have a picnic table and concrete patio. Park is divided into pet and non-pet sections. There are lots of park models. There is a fenced area for dogs, as well as an agility course. Park internet was okay. Verizon slowed at peak times. There are at least two laundry facilities and they are cleaned several times per day. There's a clothes line if you prefer to hang your clothes to dry. As a few others have mentioned, this park is located close to Tucson International Airport and Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Therefore, there is some air traffic noise occasionally. We'll definitely return to this park. Check out the park's website for all they have to offer.

Rate reflects Passport America. Great park, and it's huge. There are many signs of all sizes along Main Street, so it's easy to miss the sign and driveway for Mesa Spirit. However, there are several places to turn around if you happen to pass the park. The park is big rig friendly and there was an escort to the site. While we didn't participate in any of the activities, the calendar we were given upon check-in was full of activities to keep one busy. I believe most sites are concrete. Hookups are at the rear of the site. Didn't check out laundry or shower facilities. Both Sprint and Verizon service worked well. We'll return to this park when passing through Mesa.

I'm rating this park a 9 because of its natural beauty. If I were rating based on amenities, it would be a 6. As mentioned by others, there are no 50 amp sites (only 30 amp), but that was not a problem for the time of year we were there. Sites are mostly gravel with some asphalt patches. Bathrooms were clean, but there are no showers. There is a dump station and a water fill station on the premises. Maneuvering around the park was relatively easy. The only thing I would suggest for big rigs is to not hook up your tow vehicle until after you have left the dump station area, as it can be a bit tight maneuvering around in that area. The lady in the office told us of a previous guest who had some difficulty maneuvering because he/she had their tow car attached. Although we didn't have our car attached, we did have to back up once in order to make it around one of the turns. There are trails nearby where you can walk with your pets, but you do need to watch for the cactus.

We stayed at this park for one night. Rate reflects GS discount. Owner was friendly and helpful with information. Park is conveniently located off I-10. Although close to I-10, our site was far enough away from the interstate that we didn't hear traffic noise. This is a big rig friendly park and there's plenty of maneuvering room. The sites are on a large gravel lot. We had no problem leveling. All services worked as they should. Clean laundry room and rec area. There was a large dog run area. Another plus for this park is that there is a large truck/RV wash just next door. We would stay again if passing through the area.

THIS PARK IS AT EXIT 184, DO NOT FOLLOW GPS UNLESS IT IS TAKING YOU TO EXIT 184. After we got lost and called, the man who answered the phone stated that the GPS always sends people to the wrong location. It would be nice to find that information on a webpage. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Man in office was friendly and escorted us to our site. They do "pack them in" and the sites were a little closer together than what we prefer, but the neighbors were quiet. Hook ups worked well. The one thing that put us off was that there was dog waste everywhere in the park, even though there are signs posted requesting that you scoop. The dog area was full of waste too. The park does have easy access off I-20. Sites were hard-packed gravel and leveling was not difficult. Note from admin: GPS address is 32.27391 / -101.37013 to office.

Price reflects Good Sam discount. Sites were long (some of the longest we've seen), level pull throughs and there was a nice amount of space between sites. Hookups worked well, there was no cable, but we were able to pick up stations using the antenna. Use of pressure valve recommended since water pressure is 80 psi. There were no picnic tables or fire rings, probably because it can be windy and dusty. I believe there is a laundry facility, but don't know about shower facilities. Easy access off I-20. Noise wasn't a problem. Entrance to park is wide. Interior roads are dirt, sites are hard packed gravel, and we had no problem leveling. There were some permanents, but their sites were well maintained. We would stay again if passing through the area.

Some websites will indicate this is a Good Sam park, but the owner no longer participates. This park is conveniently located off I-20. No one was on site when we arrived, so we called and were told where to park. The site we were assigned (#2) was a pull through, but we backed in since there was a rather large hump at what would have been the entrance if we had pulled through. We could see that others had scraped. The lady who arrived to check us in, was super friendly. As another reviewer noted, this park could use some TLC. It's a bit run down, but the electric worked and that was all that we needed for the one night we were passing through. Some of the smaller concrete pads had sunken spots and there was a lot of junk at one end of the park. We thought the price was high for the condition of the park.

We stayed at this campground one night while traveling through Augusta. The owners/managers weren't onsite but they gave us instructions as to where to park, where to pay, etc. when we called. It is a big rig friendly park. The one thing to note, if you're planning to park in one of the pull through sites on the left as you enter, is that you should follow the driveway past the house and circle around to enter the sites. That way you can see the site numbers, and the hook ups will be on the driver's side/back of the RV. The campground is close to a major highway, but there wasn't much road noise. The site we had was hard packed dirt/gravel and was fairly level, with a good amount of space between sites. Water and electric were good. There were a couple of RVs in the park that looked as though they may have been abandoned or not well cared for, but it was a good place to stop for a night. There are some low hanging power lines in the park, but they shouldn't be a problem for anyone who stays on the driveway and uses the pull through sites near the entrance. We would stay again if passing through the area.

Rate reflects a Good Sam discount. This was a great park, well maintained and clean, lots of trees for shade, conveniently located, and easy in/easy out. The office staff were friendly and there was an escort to the site. There was a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There was a book exchange in the office and a store that had a good selection of parts and other necessities. Although it was within a few minutes' drive of the city of Effingham, where there was a Walmart and many other stores/restaurants, the park was quiet. It was an oasis unto itself. All of the services were good, Wi-Fi worked well, but we didn't use any of their facilities. There is a lake abutting the property and the park offered a canoe and kayak for rent. We had initially planned to stay only two days, but decided to stay an additional three days.

We stayed at this park for one night in September while passing through the area. The rate reflects the Good Sam price. We called the office, made our reservation, paid by credit card, and were given directions. We requested a 50 amp site and were told that those were located along the fence line. The sites are grass and the ground was a little soft from rain when we were there, but we were able to level without too much trouble. Water and sewer hook ups are available. Several of the faucets no longer had knobs to turn on/off the water, but you could turn on/off with channel locks. We actually left our channel locks there for someone else to enjoy (not intentionally). It's a no frills campground, but certainly one that serves its purpose. We would stay again if passing through the area.

We stayed at this park for one night only, but would have stayed longer if time had permitted. The park is nicely maintained, sites are gravel and we had no problem leveling. There was an escort to the site. All services were good, but there was no cable. The sites are nicely spaced and each has a picnic table. There is a small store on-site with games, clothing, food, etc. There is a fenced area for dogs. We would stay here again if passing through the area.

We stayed at this park for one night only, but would have stayed longer if time had permitted. Although close to the interstate, the noise was not noticeable, but our air conditioners were in use. We had no problem maneuvering our 40' motor home once we entered the park, but the entrance is a little tight. The park is very well maintained and someone has done an excellent job with the landscaping. All services were good and the WiFi worked fine. We felt the exit was a bit tight in certain areas due to signage posts and other whimsical things on the grounds. We went slowly and had no problems. We would stay here again if passing through the area.

We stayed at this park for one week to be off the road during the Labor Day holiday. This is a park with a lot of trees, but we had no problem maneuvering our 40' motorhome with tow vehicle attached. The site we had was long, and there was no problem leveling. There are a number of permanents at the park, but the park was well maintained. There were shower/restroom/laundry facilities, a pool, a kids play area, and a doggy comfort area (not fenced). All of the services were good. It was definitely a family friendly park. One thing of note is that if you're traveling east on US54, you'll need to make a u-turn to get to the park. Likewise, when you're leaving, if you wish to continue east on 54, you'll need to make another u-turn. This requires a bit of patience as there is a lot of traffic on 54. We would return to this park if passing through the area.

At the time of this review, we're still at this campground (can stay 14 days). We had been RVing for only 3 months when we discovered it (by someone mentioning it to us). What a great place! The only reason I'm not rating it a 10 is that there are no sewer hook ups at the sites. The park is well designed and it's easy for big rigs to maneuver. Many of the sites are directly adjacent to the lake, but I believe all sites offer a water view. Each site has an area with a picnic table and fire pit. There is an area of the lake that is roped off for swimming. There are quite a few flies, so bring repellant, especially if you visit in August. This is one of those places that draws crowds for the weekends, but clears out during the week. We will definitely return here when passing through the area.

The price reflects the cost for Escapees members. We stayed at this park for one week in August and loved it. Check-in was easy and informational, and the office staff was friendly. There was an escort to the site. The sites for overnighters or short-timers are concrete, with full hook ups. Although we didn't make use of the service, we were told that propane could be delivered to our motor home. Upon check-in, we received brochures/flyers that offered discounts to many of the shows. This park is a few miles from the strip where most of the shows occur, but the park offers a shuttle service. There are DVDs in the office that you can rent for $2. The laundry room at this park is the nicest we've seen. There were more washers and dryers than any other place we've stayed. They had the carts like you find in laundromats in which you put your laundry to move from washer/dryer/folding table, etc. They have a change machine, plus laundry supplies, along with an ironing board and an iron. There was even a sofa. There is a restaurant on site that we visited twice during our stay. When we visited, the restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and open from 7:00 to 2:00 the other days. They serve breakfast all day, along with a lunch menu. The restaurant serves typical American fare. We will return to this park when passing through the area.

Before I give my review, it should be noted that there is a bridge with a weight limit of 13 tons that has to be crossed before reaching the park. There are no signs to warn you about the weight limit prior to reaching the bridge. So, some of the larger diesel pushers may not want to venture to this park. We stayed at this park for one night, but would have stayed longer if we were not on a schedule. I believe we were the only transients the night we stayed, but there were several sites that appeared to be occupied full-time. We didn't make use of any of the facilities, but I did notice there was a laundry room. There is no on-site manager, so you select your site and pay by putting money in an envelope and dropping it in a slotted box by the laundry room. The highway is close, but we didn't notice any traffic sounds since we had our air conditioners running. If you're just passing through and don't want to unhook your tow vehicle, there are four long pull-through sites with 50 amp service close to the entrance. There are other 50 amp sites as well. The park has both back-ins and pull-throughs. It's a no frills park, was quiet when we were here, but quite pleasant and definitely off the beaten path. Except for a few hundred yards of gravel road just before the entrance, the road leading to the park has been paved.

We stayed at this park for four days in July. The last bit of road leading to the park is somewhat narrow, but we didn't have any problem getting there with our 40' motor home. The entrance to the park was plenty wide, even with towing our car. There were only 3 concrete pads, but it was suggested that a gravel site might be better for us since it was so hot. We parked on the gravel site one night, but moved to a concrete pad the next day since we couldn't get level on the gravel site. There are both pull-thru and back-in sites available. If you want to use your Passport America membership or Escapees membership, you might want to confirm acceptance of those with the park hosts before arrival. We were told that they were thinking of no longer accepting Passport America and they weren't sure they were still accepting Escapees. However, they did allow us the Passport America rate for one night and the Escapees 15% discount the remaining three nights. The current park hosts haven't been there long and I think there was just a bit of confusion about various memberships. The day we left, it appeared that they were making more gravel sites available. This is a small(ish) park, but it appeared that management is trying to improve it. The park was well maintained and the park hosts were friendly and helpful. As stated by other reviewers, the showers/bathrooms are great. The laundry room is rather large, although there are only two washers and two dryers. We didn't notice any road noise. If you stay at this park and have time to venture out, you might want to check out the town of Winnsboro.

We stayed here for one night during May 2012. Since it was getting close to Memorial Day weekend I called ahead to see if there was availability. The woman with whom I spoke was helpful and friendly. The site we had was a pull-through, with full hookups. They have both 50 and 30 amp sites, and we were given a 50% discount since we are Escapees members. As another reviewer mentioned on a different review site, there is concern about speeding in the park. As soon as I parked our car behind our motor home, a man on a small tractor approached me and nicely asked that I drive slower in the park so as to not create dust and for the safety of the children who would be out playing. I didn't even realize I was driving fast, but the road was extremely dry and I may have stirred up some dust. But, he was courteous when he asked. As another reviewer mentioned, there are no concrete pads, but the site we had was relatively level. What we liked most about the park was that there were several large areas where we could walk our dog. We would return to this park if we were passing through Luling.

We stayed at this park for a week. The rate reflects price with Escapees discount. The pull-through sites are long, relatively level and gravel. There is a small lake with a lighted fountain and you can walk around the entire lake. Some sites have trees. Access in and out is easy. There is a jam session held each week and Alma (the female of the couple who manages the park) has a beautiful voice. We would stay here again if passing through the area.

We stayed at this park for two nights. As others have stated, you need "the code" to enter the park since it's gated. Someone may come around to collect money after you arrive, or they may ask that you drop it in the "honor" box. All of the sites appeared to be back-ins, with gravel. Our site was relatively level. There are some trees in the park that offer a bit of shade, but not all sites have trees near them. The WI-Fi worked well. Although a previous reviewer had stated there were no laundry or bath facilities, I believe this park does now have those, but we didn't make use of them. We would stay here again if we were passing through the area.

We stayed for a week at this park and really enjoyed it. The sites are long, gravel, and relatively level pull-throughs with easy access. The park has a pool, pet exercise area, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, restrooms/showers, movie and book exchange, and a small store. There is a lake where you can fish (catch and release). The nightly rate can be had with numerous discounts such as military, Escapees etc. The office staff was friendly and helpful. There was a vegetable garden on site and fresh vegetables were placed in the office each day for folks to take what they would use. Nice touch! We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area.
