Over all this is a very nice park. We would stay there again if in the area. Some sites are not very level. The sites near the water were covered with goose droppings.

If you like state parks and have a rig 30' or less this park gets my recommendation. It is peaceful and quite. The restrooms were very clean.

The previous reviews are pretty accurate. I would have rated this park higher if the rest rooms would have been clean, and if the recreational activities posted at the park had taken place as advertised. We did get a first night $10 discount for being first time visitors.

This is our campground of choice in Nashville. We stay several times a year. It is convenient to the Grand Ole Opry and hotel complex, Titans games, Sounds baseball games, and downtown Nashville. Is it the world's greatest park, no but it is a nice park with very helpful staff and a good base of operations when visiting the Nashville area.

There are 2 campgrounds at Lincoln Trail State Park, Plainview and Lakeside. Lakeside includes an area for tents. We arrived after dark and went to the Plainview campground. That turned out to be a good decision according to the host Lakeside campground would have been difficult to negotiate with our 30' TT. About 7 miles South of I-70 on IL Rt. 1, good spot for overnight stop if you’re in that area.

This is a quiet and well maintained park with good security. The sites have plenty of space as well. Near to the intersection of I-55 and I-80. It is a 1 hour drive to downtown Chicago. Allow more time during rush hours. It is about 4.5 miles to the Metra train station with service to downtown and points in between. Also there is a laundry room at the bath house. The staff has always been very helpful. We stay here 2-3 times a year.

Nice campground; the distance to hookups varies: some far, some near to the sites. The sites vary as to width making some very difficult to get into with a larger rig. Campground is a loop with bath house and dump in the center. If you're looking for seclusion this is not your place. On the other hand if you what to talk and get to see your fellow campers this is the place. Golf course and pro shop is next to campground.
