We stayed in site 163-A,and it was a great site! Our site in that loop has a patio with a huge gas grill. The site was gravel, and very level. This is the perfect spot for families. The playground, volleyball, and pool are right there. There is also a huge grassy area to play in. They have free cable at these sites. The people were very friendly, and we will be returning. We camped here while we went to Snow Mountain.
This state park was AMAZING! We stayed in a camping cabin which consisted of 2 sets of bunk beds with full size bed on the bottom. We had heat and air conditioning. The showers were very clean. The views are unbelievable and was worth the 23 hour drive. The wildlife was everywhere. My children said this was better than Disney World. We hope to make our way back out soon.
We chose this park because it was close to family I was visiting. The park was very clean, and quiet. They have a pool, and that is about it for kids. I was really surprised that there were not any planned activities for the Labor Day weekend. Every KOA we have stayed have always had activities. You never really saw a lot of staff. The same girl worked the counter in the store, and a man sat at the guard house at night. The site we paid for said shade, but there wasn't any. The sites were level, but our neighbor's sewer line was right in front of us. It is a short drive to beautiful beaches. If you are looking are a nice quiet getaway without a lot of amenities this is the place for you. We had a nice stay, but not sure we would come back with our kids.
We stayed at this campground July 2-10 on site 86b which was a deluxe pond site. What they fail to mention is that you are on the "pond", but a chain link fence with barbed wire is in between you and the pond. Also our site was covered with kudzu so you couldn't even see the pond. I would not pay extra for the deluxe site again.I walked into the bathroom and it was so hot and flies everywhere. Luckily we didn't have to use the facilities. They have TONS of activities for your children and the recreation staff are awesome! It was completely booked over the 4Th, but never seemed to crowded for us. My kids really liked the slide at the pool. Also the river is too rocky, deep and swift for kids to play in it. There is an extra charge to fish ($7 per day for tribal license), jumping pillow ($2 per child), tubing trip ($10 per person),mini golf ($2 ) plus there are some charges for the activities. Overall my kids had a great time, but for the price we could have stayed at Fort Wilderness at Disney.
This was a very nice campground. Everything is kept clean and well taken care off. The staff was excellent and very helpful. My kids loved tubing in the river and swimming in the pool. They caught fish in the lake every time the rod hit the water. We stayed in A28 and the site was really small. We could almost touch our neighbor from the picnic table. There is a train across the road, but I only heard it once a day. It was never late at night ever. Overall this was a great campground and we will be visiting again!
We love this campground! There are so many things to do and the kids love the pools! Our only complaint was that our site had all sand and very little grass. Oh well, we are at the beach! We are going back in October.
This was a great campground close to home. It was kept very clean and the staff were very friendly! Our 3 children stayed busy the whole weekend doing crafts and scavenger hunts. We really enjoyed the pet play yard. There were a lot of dogs ( we had 2), but you never heard any of them or saw any "mess" left by them. We will be returning this summer!
