Price is day/month. We are HDTers and are 67' overall but can fit in almost every site (most are roomy pull-throughs). We have been here 5 months and love it. No cable but 22 local digital channels are strong. Many sites may need a tripod dish to access satellites. Strong Wi-fi in all sites but poor Internet speeds 24/7. Sprint 4g Wimaxx OK in east end. Verizon LTE - GREAT!<= 30mbps. Convenient to all shopping needs. Beaches are 7 miles east. Park is consistently well maintained.

Rate shown is based on the monthly rate. We stayed here in a 5th wheel and are HDTers. Wi-Fi is very strong everywhere but TengoInternet delivery is throttled at 750kbps max. Also, delivery is not smooth and any sort of streaming from downloads to pictures stutters a lot. The roads are level as are most of the sites and both are packed gravel and sand and are kept up nicely. Main roads are paved. Nice for walks and we have not experienced any mosquitoes in the week we have been here... but gnats are everywhere. Spaces are large pull-throughs for all but the perimeter sites. We are 65' overall and fit OK. Villano beaches are only about 7 miles away and St Augustine old town is even closer. Jacksonville is about 25 minutes north on I-95. Quite quiet for being only a few blocks from I-95. Outside one can hear a little traffic in the distance. Inside, all is quiet. We would stay here again for overnight and/or monthly. Two huge outlet malls are only a few blocks away along with a Camping World store, Cracker Barrel, IHOP and a lot of other pleasure palaces.

We are HDT'ers and though this park is easy to get into and around in, there was only a couple of full hookup sites that we could get into. #24 fit us but had no patio area and was directly above the loud pumping station. Digital TV was OK on 4 stations but no ABC. Gorgeous park but laid out 40 years ago by a non-camping superintendent so it is a nice fit for Pop-ups most everywhere. Site 24 was the only one that we could fit the whole rig and Towd onto. Almost all sites have leveling issues, so take lots of leveling blocks. Hwy WV 20 is kind of tight in a few places and very curvy (from either direction) but approaching from the west is a little better I am told. It was helpful to have a pilot car out ahead of the rig coming up here.

The park is excellent as is the staff. The 4 mile road to it, however, is a sidewalk with a double yellow line so medium to big rigs could use a pilot car because you can't stay on your side of the road and keep your rig out of the ditches. The Lakes are small but very pleasing to see. FIshing is good but catch/release. Wifi, though mentioned, is only available near the office. Though there is no cable, digital over the air reception gets about 8 channels. Most sites are smaller, but spaced ok. Most big pull throughs can handle any sized rig and are 50/30amp, but dont have sewer. We are HDTers and 65' x 13' 4" when travelling. Quiet, peaceful setting and though there are a lot of rigs in place full time, they are not occupied all the time. Great Place except for bad WV roads.

We stayed here for 7 nights at the Coast to Coast member's rate. All sites are concrete drives and table pads with most of the sand covered with centipede grass except for the premium sites along the dunes. We stayed in site #219. As HDTers we had no problem backing in as there are no pull-through sites. The longest sites are along the north side of the park. WiFi was strong but would drop intermittently during weekdays. Great sunsets each night on the Pamlico Sound side of the park. The park covers from ocean to sound across the highway. Outdoor pool was closed but indoor pool was open as was the hot tub. Nice place for families with good playground equipment, tennis courts, mini golf and shuffleboard courts. Definitely coming back.

Level clean park. Packed gravel roads and most sites. Overshadowed by big oak trees (thus the name) but no low branches in the park. Some park models available. A destination park for members of their club. Though there is a Good Sam's logo on the building and a Resort Parks International (RPI) sign on the building, they give a 10% discount for most clubs. The $19 rate is reserved for Passport America, Thousand Trails and their own private club members. Cable is $2.50 and Tengo Net Wi-Fi is $4.50 but seems to have a strong signal. The KOA at this exit is just behind this campground on another road. Some highway noise but I have had worse. Most sites are bigger pull-throughs but many have the sewer connection at the rear making for a long hose run if you have a mid-rig sewer fitting. The price and location make this a definite place for us to use in the future.

I am generally not a raving fan of KOA camping, mostly due to price but I have to say that the Wilmington KOA really is something a cut above. There are a lot of big rig suitable sites with easy ingress/egress. 50 amp full hookup sites just about everywhere, a 3 pen off leash pet exercise area and plenty of places for kids to play. The sites are all packed and level beach sand/gravel and our semi tow vehicle and 40' 5th wheel fit nicely with room for the Smart car without anything hanging out or sitting on the grass. Its surprisingly quiet with no nearby railroad tracks, Interstates or airports to rattle us. Their site has a decent promo video which gives a good perspective of the available amenities. The staff has been mostly college kids with a few workamping older folks like us, thrown into the mix. We reserved a Lodge (not a cabin with no bathroom) for visiting friends. Its a short Park model with a log cabin motif inside but complete with a queen bed, bunk beds and everything but linens. They are loving it! Talk about convenience, there is a Hess gas station at the entrance which, at the moment has the lowest fuel prices that I can find in this whole area. On the opposite side of the KOA driveway is a big vehicle pull through car wash with lots of bays tall enough to handle any sized RV. That’s just too darned convenient! Its only about 5 miles to Wrightsville Beach to the south and a good bit farther to Carolina Beach but the roads area good and wide and generally fast. As I said, I am not a big fan of KOAs and have stayed in a few that were not acceptable but this one is something special and is well managed and cared for. Its certainly better than many of the Coast to Coast Deluxe resort properties we have stayed in. We will definitely come back here.
