The price is based on a festival going on (Bluebonnet Festival followed by the Cotton Gin Festival). We found this park to be very adequate. There is highway noise from US 290, but not all that bad. The owner was very nice. Our site (#49) was level and the utilities were in good shape. BTW, the bluebonnets were beautiful! The roads are gravel and dirt.
The only thing lacking at this park is no WiFi. Otherwise, the location is very accessible to Waco and things to do. The lakeside spaces are well kept and very scenic. The beachfront at the site we stayed at was small rocks. The only other drawback, perhaps (and it wasn't a drawback in our case) is that the park closes at 10 PM with no entry at all. So, if you are a night owl, it may not be for you. The price indicated is with a Golden Eagle Passport; otherwise, it is $24 per night.
We found the Wi-Fi to be very slow. This campground has many many large pecan trees. They hadn't leafed out yet during our stay, but even then, in the space we were at, we had great difficulty receiving satellite TV. Our unit is a dome on top of our motorhome. I would think that after leafing out, there are only about 4 sites where you can get satellite TV. The golf course, as someone else mentioned, is cart-path only for electric carts. I don't understand why, but it's their course. The greens are very small, so it's a challenge. All utilities are excellent.
We had stayed here a few years ago, and we had forgotten just how noisy this place is! As far as being big rig friendly, we camped here in a 36' RV with a towed, and with 2 slides. The sites were very narrow and we barely fit lengthwise. The manager was very friendly and helpful. However, we won't stay here again because of the road noise from I-20.
When we reserved our site, we requested a site with clear views for our satellite. They parked us where we were partially covered by Big Oaks! However, they said we shouldn't have a problem. We had a little problem getting level, but finally did. We hooked up, and guess what? We couldn't get satellite reception. They promptly moved us to another spot where we did get reception. The people were nice. This park is right off Hwy 27 and it is noisy.
