We camp here every year. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is lots to do in the area, and the campground is centrally located. Weekend's can be crowded but that is what is expected for a weekend destination. The restrooms are very nice and kept clean. They have a very nice store with lots neat items. We will stay here again.
We have camped here before, the park is clean and quiet even at busy times. We camp on premium sites and love the lake views. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park is patrolled to protected the campers. We will camp here again.
The pictures on the website match the actual campground. This is a very nice campground, the staff is friendly and helpful. They a very nice pool facility and lots of things to do. We went to the wine tasting party which was a great time. They are Very pet friendly, they have a dog park for small and large dogs an very nice feature. We will camp here again.
We have been coming to Kalyumet at least once a season for three years. Each year we see improvements and upgrades. They have a beautiful pool. The restrooms and showers in the main building are extremely clean and well taken care of. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The sites are all shaded lightly with pines. Also, I can't forget the fresh made popcorn on Saturday nights--Yummy! They have a very nice mini-golf course and arcade that includes pizza and wings as well as hand-dipped ice cream. They even are offering pizza and wing delivery to your campsite on Friday and Saturday evenings. This campground is well worth checking into!
We have camped here before: it is a family friendly campground with all shaded sites. The hookups are conveniently located at the sites. Most sites have graywater drains, but no blackwater. The water quality is excellent. There is plenty of activities in the area and a beautiful lake to enjoy. They just installed a new pool for 2011. We have already booked later this year and next year.
This is a beautiful park and campground. It is 15 minutes off of I-90 with easy access for any type of RV. The sites are large and mostly flat. The website indicated our site had 20 amp hook-up, but when we arrived it was a 30 amp hookup. There is plenty to do, hiking biking and swimming, bring your bikes for 2 miles of paved trails and 4 more unpaved. The restrooms were clean, but they only have 3 shower stalls, so time yourself accordingly. The sites 1-37 did not have as much shade, but were very large. The other loop was mostly shaded sites.
This is our third visit, if you are thinking of camping in Cooks Forest, this is the campground to maximize your enjoyment. The road access is excellent for any type of RV. The owners are great and have been making noticeable improvements across the board. The sites are large and mostly shaded. This campground is very close to all of the activities. Next door is mini-golf course and a great game room. We love the place and have already scheduled our next visit.
Great campground. The staff is extremely friendly and help full. They offer several reduced rates tickets to local attractions. The pool is nice and the kids loved the hippo slide. The number of sites with shade are limited, in the middle of summer in Virgina you can never have enough shade. It was above 100 degree's on several days, and there was no problems with power. I would recommend this campground.
This is our 2nd visit and was as good as our last visit. We love this campground. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do at the campground, there is a miniature golf and a brand new game room located on the south side of the facility. The bathrooms are very modern and very clean. The pool is heated and very nice. There is hiking and canoeing in the local state forest so there is plenty of sites to enjoy. We will camp here next year.
We stayed 3 nights at this campground, and this was our 4th stay in the last 3 years. This is a very nice campground with lots of activities for all ages. We stayed at one of the lake-front sites: it was very spacious and quite.
This is our second stay at this campground. We camped in site S-8 which has a beautiful view of Lake Erie. The sites are large and are accessible by any size RV. There is good access to the lake. We had limited WI-FI access, but it worked when we need to use the internet. My only observation was that the water pressure was very low, so it made for weak showers, when I return next year I recommend filling your holding tank and using the trailer pump for good water pressure. I would recommend this campground to anyone.
This is our 4th stay at Paradise Bay. The campsites are spacious and mostly shaded. Several sites have a view of the lake. There are plenty of things to do in and around Finley Lake. You can rent a pontoon boat for a reasonable fee and cruise around the man-made lake. The campground is about 4 miles off of I-86 interstate.
This campground is wonderful. We camped over the Memorial Day weekend; we had a premium site along the lake in the pet area, site 192. Most sites only have electric, but a select few had full hookups. The bath facilities are excellent, clean and well maintained. There is a nice beach and playground next to the lake. The staff was friendly and efficient. The park was full, but very quite for such a large crowd. The ranger went through the park every 2 hours to ensure everyone had an enjoyable weekend. The sites are large and well maintained; you can have full sun or full shade, a great selection. We really enjoyed our stay, we will camp there again.
The campground is conveniently located 6 miles south of I-90, with easy access for any size RV. The facility is only 5 years old and was designed to handle the largest of rigs. The spots are large and easy to access. We camped in the late fall so the large swimming pool was closed for the season. The sites vary from full sun to partial shade. It was a little pricey for a late season rental, but overall a good value.
This campground is huge and the sites are average size. We had a difficult time getting our camper on to the site due to a large boulder located on the site. The campground has over 400 permanent sites. Because the campground is so large, everyone uses a golf cart to get around, so it was very dusty and reeked of golf cart fumes. There is plenty to do for the kids and a nice pool complex. The on site cafe is nice and has good food at good prices. the 4th of July fireworks were fantastic, a first class production. Good place to go if you want to be busy while camping.
We have camped there in May 2008 and June 2008. It is a very clean an quiet campground, most of the sites are seasonal. The sites for daily rental are all very nice, water & electric are easy to access, each site has a drain for gray water, but now sewer. The bathroom is clean and well maintained. The owners are GREAT, they make you feel right at home. The campground is right on the lake so you have easy access to the water. We will return to this campground
