Great park. Convenient location to Rock City, restaurants, shopping, and Chattanooga. Park is clean and quiet, except for interstate noise. Sites are completely gravel, no grass, have lots of trees, lots of shade. Our site is level, and plenty long for our motorhome and toad. Good width between sites. Nicely paved roads. Showers are great, separate rooms with full locking doors, and elbow room. Pool looks great, but we didn't use it. Cable TV very good, lots of channels, nice and clear. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Price reflects KOA discount card.
The huge trees with lots of Spanish moss and the other thick vegetation make this a beautiful park, plus we saw deer, squirrels, lizards, and birds. The GPS got us close, then we just followed the brown signs. Recommend entering the intersection of Diamond Causeway and State Park Road. We were really excited about a state park with cable TV but half the stations didn't come in at all, and half the ones we got were so fuzzy we couldn't watch them. Then the first night, a thunderstorm completely knocked out the TV, and it didn't come back (at our site anyway) until the last of the 6 nights we were there. But we didn't care, because the park was so beautiful. We didn't even mind having to unhook and go to the sewer dump, although it was a little inconvenient. The sites are all shapes and sizes, but all are beautiful, level, spacious, and shady. It was so very quiet and peaceful. Downtown Savannah and Tybee Island are both just short drives away. The roads in the park are very nicely paved. They have a pool, but it was closed. The restroom was typical for state park - basic cinder block with shower curtains - but clean with good pressure and lots of hot water. The staff was happy, relaxed, friendly, helpful, accommodating. I would definitely stay here again, and want to bring all my friends and family.
