This is a great place to visit. We came for 1 night and stayed for 4 nights. The park has been recently upgraded. New restrooms and showers, 82 new sites, and all sites have been upgraded to 50amp electric. The park has 3 stocked fishing lagoons and a river that runs through. The area along the river, the Verde River Greenway, is great for birding. There are many places to visit near the park that make great day tips. If you are in the area it's a well worth a visit.
A beautiful site on the Colorado River. The river wraps around this park making a stark contrast to the rugged Buckskin Mountains to the east. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nice warm winter days. Great evening walks along the river and also a trail that crosses over Hwy 95 into the Buckskin Mountains where we saw some great views. There is a park market and launch ramp if you have a boat. Also a nice playground for kids.
Great out of the way campground. Alamo Lake is great fishing for bass, cat, and panfish. Hot in the summer but great weather in the spring, winter, and fall. Hiking in the washes was fun. Wild burros, and water birds were seen. Friendly rangers.
