Very clean park, nicely mowed, grassy sites. We were able to park our 33 footer on a level site without having to unhook the truck for an overnight stay. That is 50+ feet of level driveway to park on. The host/owner was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Wi-Fi is excellent, that's what I am using as I type this. A gem of a campground right off of I-77. We will for sure return.

Fantastic camping on a sandy beach on Lake Superior. What more could you want? The park is clean and well maintained. We camped on one of the newer sites that has 50A service and water hookups. These sites are beach-front with a clear view of the lake. The rate quoted is for the beach-front sites; other sites are less.

This park is a gem in many ways. The view of Keweenah bay is fantastic. The park is clean, quiet, has good power, good water available at a central point, and good Wi-Fi. The Verizon cell phone also has a good signal. Most sites are level side to side with a slight downward slope. The only negative I have are the fire pits. They are over a foot deep in the ground, makes it hard to enjoy a campfire when all you see is smoke coming from a hole in the ground!

The previous review from 2002 is still accurate. This park is ok for tents, pop-ups, and small (18ft and under) travel trailers. Very few long level sites. It is a class B campground with pit toilets, no showers, but a dump station is available. Very disappointing Ohio State Park.

This park makes a perfect overnight stop for those traveling I-77. It is easy off and on with a Flying J right at the end of the ramp. The park is buffered by large ridge, so the main noise is from the cows in the adjacent meadows!! The only negative: we found the free Wi-Fi to be virtually non-usable. We stayed here on 4/14 and again on 4/28.

One of the best campgrounds we have camped at. We had a large site #26, with lots of room behind the trailer for a campfire. The site was very private with dense vegetation between sites. Lots to do in the park and in the area. An added benefit is free access to all Charleston County Park facilities, such as the pier and the beach at Folly Beach and the Beachwalker park at Kiawah Island. This was our second visit to James Island County Park, and we found the park to be even better than we remembered from the first visit 4 years ago. BTW the Wi-Fi was better (faster) than I have at home.

This is a wonderful park with lots to do without even leaving the park. Beach access is excellent, and has good bike/walking trails with a chance to view alligators from a close, but safe distance. This is another gem in the South Carolina State Park system.

We found this park to be a first class facility. The grass was mowed throughout the park, sites are level for the most part and it is the only Ohio State Park we have ever camped in where you could step out the door of your camper onto grass, not mud! I don't know how the park people manage to preserve the grass at the sides of the paved parking pads, but they do it at this park. Our only negative is that the park has only 20 sites which cannot be reserved. We arrived after the office closed, so we had to choose a non-reservable site. Not a problem since the park was only perhaps 5% occupied. We will definitely camp here again.

It seems Lock 30 is back to having management problems again. Our reservation was lost and the people manning the desk didn't have a clue. Park was ok, our site G* was a little muddy but tolerable. Sites in this section are very close together. There are other campgrounds in the area that have much more to offer. Scenery in the park was very nice.

This is a very nice park with a fantastic view of the Niagara River just across the parkway from the campsites. The bike path in front of the campground extends from Fort Erie to the South to Niagara on the Lake to the north. It is away from the commercial area of Niagara Falls, but only 6 miles to the falls. We will camp here again soon.
