Rate reflects a discount for a weekly stay. We came for a week and extended our stay because we liked it so much! We were there Labor day weekend and it was pretty packed, but still serene and a nice place to be. Guests were mostly middle aged and better. The interior roads are easy to navigate even for large rigs with a toad. The sites are paved, wide, well spaced, and mostly level. A couple of sites had pavement in need of repair but the vast majority were in excellent condition. The grounds were neat, clean, and safe. They have "panic buttons" around the campground but other than a medical emergency, I can't picture a reason why one would need them. The view is great, typical Eastern Sierras mountain vistas. Laundry room is large and clean. I did not have to wait for machines. The showers are large private bathroom/shower combos. They were pretty clean too. Wi-Fi is available in the main office area. There is a comfortable lounge area there. They charge extra for Wi-Fi at the site, hence a rating of 9 instead of 10. The $2.99 breakfast special at the casino cafe can't be beat. If you are looking for a great burger, drive east on 80 a few miles...Robb exit..."Burger Me" has the absolute BEST burgers! We are looking forward to our next stay at Gold Ranch.
The manager is very friendly, professional, and helpful. The park is in excellent condition. There are quite a few monthly tenants but the place still has a "resort feel" to it because sites are kept clean and mostly uncluttered. Interior roads are a little narrow in the areas where monthly tenants are, but they keep many easily accessible pull through sites near the entrance of the park for daily/weekly guests. Spacing between sites was better than average for most sites. For example, awnings were not touching the rig in the next space; there is adequate room for slides and awnings. One "back in" section was a little tight...the rear of one rig was a few feet from the rear of another rig. The other sections had more space between rigs. It was surprisingly quiet for being as close to the freeway as it is. The pool area was clean and inviting. They have activities planned for the community if that sort of thing is important to you, and they are a friendly bunch. Rate reflects a discount for monthly stay.
This is not a resort, destination-type RV park. We stay here when visiting family in the area. It meets our basic needs. The roads are gravel and wide enough for large rigs to navigate. Dust is minimal because the gravel is well packed like cement. The parking pads are gravel or gravel and grass. They are mostly level on the North side of the park. There is at least one spot on the south side that is deeply rutted but the host told us about that spot ahead of time. South side of the park is next to beer distribution facility but I can't comment on the noise because I couldn't hear it from the North side of park. They occasionally have car races at the fairgrounds next door. It is loud but over by 10 or 11 pm. We could barely here it with the stereo on medium volume so I consider it a non-issue. It's a city park...I don't expect to listen to the crickets here! The laundry room was fairly clean as were the restrooms. There is some highway noise but that is expected since it is near the freeway. Verizon cell service worked fine. We will stay here again. Rate reflects discount for weekly stay and Escapees discount.
