We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had a waterfront site that was close to the pool and the playground--so the kids had a blast. We also enjoyed fishing off the pier. We can see how previous reviewers felt cramped; we stayed during the week and during off season, so we had free sites next to us. That being said there is no way we would stay during the main season. It would just be too cramped. The pool and bathrooms were super clean, and the staff were friendly. The full-time campers were plentiful, but seemed to stay to themselves. The town offered plenty of fresh seafood, good restaurants, and Wakulla Springs and the Marine Lab were great to visit. Definitely not a touristy town, but we found enough to do and enjoy.
The name says it all. Peace Valley was a wonderful campground. We were creekside and enjoyed the beautiful scenery daily. The bathrooms and pool were spotless, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The sites were spacious and level. Overall a wonderful experience!
We have stayed at several Yogi campgrounds. This one had a few pluses, but several minuses. There were several great free shows for the family each evening: a reptile guy, a circus show. The campsite is super close to Six Flags, and is tucked among lush hills . The negatives: the sites are very close together, and there are tons of them. The cabins seemed to be stacked next to each other like pieces on a crowded monopoly board. The sites are narrow and not level. We were so close to a cabin, we thought we might have been on their site. The pool was crowded, and there seemed to be a lot of drinking there for a family place. The roads were narrow and jammed with extra cars for cabin campers, making driving treacherous. The kids' activities almost always involved buying something in the store first. Overall, I've seen Yogi do much better.
This is a great little campground for an overnight stay. The sites are immaculate, super clean facilities, and great staff. The kids enjoyed the pool and playground. Would stay here again!
We loved this campground. The staff went above and beyond, were all extra friendly, and were knowledgeable about the area. We used this as a base camp to go into Yellowstone, although we all enjoyed the Cody attractions as well. Super store, great patios at the sites, clean showers, activities for the kids. The store was great and well-stocked. Pool was large and warm. Only drawback was that the pool was quite crowded with what seemed to be a local birthday party for non-campers. Probably top campground on our three-week adventure!
While the park was clean, it seems to be in a transition. The staff are young and inattentive and apparently not experienced with recreational vehicles. Some basic expectations for a park in this price category were lacking such as a grill or a pool. The sites, although level, are muddy and obviously engineered to pack as many people per square foot as possible. For this price category, in the future, I am seeking other options.
