We stopped here as an overnight on our way home from Colorado. We had a very long pull through site so we did not have to unhook the car. We used our Good Sam's discount. I booked this online and made the mistake of getting a site without sewer, but their sewer dump was very convenient to use on the way out. Most sites had trees of some kind. It looked like a very clean KOA. It was also far enough from the interstate that we were not bothered by traffic noise. We were in site 41 in a 34' Class A. Great for an overnight stop and we will probably stay there again on our way west.
We needed a spot to stay overnight on our way to Colorado. Nice big pull through site on gravel. We did have wifi and good tv reception. I would recommend this for an overnight spot. We were here in a 34' Class A pulling our Subaru. We did not have to unhook the Subaru. Very easy in and out. Site 50.
We enjoyed our 3 week stay here. Gravel pull through site on the end with nice shade trees. It seemed to be pretty level. We had no trouble getting set up. There was grass and cement patio with picnic table. New owners were really improving the campground the whole time we were there. Quite a few couples there for the summer. We are in our early 60's and found that the majority people were our age or older. We were not on the side with the little lake, tents, and playground, so this could be the reason. We found it very quiet. Nice bike path right down the road that takes you into Gunnison and all the nice shops. Owners loaned us a cable tv cable when ours was not long enough to reach. One evening they provided pizza and musical entertainment for everyone. Very nice office and gathering area with lots of tables. One room was set up for Wii, I think. I was a little laid up with a hip problem, so did not get to explore as much as I wanted. Laundry room was nice and only cost $1 a load. The only reason I would not give this a 10 rating was because there were only wifi spots. We think they were working on getting wifi everywhere. We had site 48. We stayed here in a 34' Class A. No trouble getting in or out.
Spaces were close together, but finding this more and more. Fantastic for groups of RV's. Has a nice community room, outside gathering area where they have outside entertainment on the weekends. Very friendly owners. Coffee in the community room every day. Chuck wagon outside with complimentary breakfast. Upgrade on the breakfast was very inexpensive. Home made breads and cinnamon rolls! They have group outings and crafts. The shower/ bathhouse was very neat and clean. Lake and state park area across the street. Very good central area for Angel Fire and Taos. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly, easy to get to. Level pull through sites. Gravel, but nice. We walked our dogs across the street to a truck plaza to purchase a Subway sandwich for dinner. This is a great place for an overnight stop. We will definitely stop here again.
