I have camped at Pine Ridge many times over the past 5 years. It is a wonderful park, full of mature trees, lots of shade, yet still sunny areas for those sun worshippers. For the most part, the lots are huge, grass is maintained. Very scenic, especially in the autumn. Staff is very friendly, but I do understand some of the other posters comments. They can be a little snippy when it comes to the rules. But, go with the flow and abide by the rules and you should have no problem. The fire rings used to be right in the ground, but they are now raised (much safer). At least you can see them now instead of falling into them. Yes, there is a charge for the showers: .25 for 4 minutes. Hardly ever a wait. Very clean washrooms and shower rooms. Not a park for children (there's a few swings and a slide, but not much else) which makes it nice for older people that like the peace and quiet. Security does come around a lot at night, so if you ever have a problem or need wood, they are not too far away. Wood is reasonably priced. If it is inclement weather, there's all kinds of places for shopping. Birch Run (2 miles), Frankenmeuth (5 miles), Saginaw (15 minutes). All in all, it is my favourite place to camp in this area of Michigan.
