This is a 7 on a state park scale (meaning amenities are spare, if you are looking for Wi-Fi and a pool, go private). Sites are fairly level, treed, and spaced far apart. Bathrooms and showers were adequate, but old. Could use revamping. Would stay again.
This is a lovely campground, and being summer, and the holiday, it was booked solid. Even so, it did not feel crowded in the campground. The sites are mostly large, somewhat level, although what qualifies as pull through sites here are pretty small. Access to Lake Michigan through the RR trail from each loop, and the beach was not ever crowded, even though it was hot.
This spring Yellowstone Lake opened the non electric loop early due to the nice weather, so we took advantage of this and went camping. Even though the water had not been turned on, so the showers and flush toilets were not available, we were able to fill up at the entrance. The ranger was very helpful and friendly. The area is beautiful, the campground was fantastic. We had a few owls for neighbors who hooted all night. I can see why this campground is booked solid during the summer.
This is a lovely park in a lovely area. We were in site 231, which had some nice shade and was fairly level and spacious. Even though it was a holiday weekend, it was quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Showers and bathrooms were clean. We didn't use the swim beach because it was crowded, but we did take the dogs to the boat launch and let them swim there.
Nice city run campground situated on the Pecatonica River in Darlington, Wi, also adjacent to the Tri County multi use ATV trails. Being that it is on the trails, there can be some associated noise, but it is limited mostly to daylight hours. Huge, clean, accessible shower house with flush toilets and 6 separate showers. There is a city pool within 6 blocks, grocery store in walking distance. If a person does not mind a bit of noise, this is a nice campground.
