The campground was in need of attention. From the looks of the Managers house on the premise, I would say he did not spend much time cleaning the area. The site I had smelled of mold and it got into the motorhome. Would never stay here again.
The location of this park is beyond description. As we entered the Island, we were truly amazed at how nice it was. The sites were gravel and uneven. Make sure you have fuel and all the supplies you need as the closest gas station is 14 miles and the closet supermarket is 20 miles. The only problem with this park is the small insects. They swarm all over and covered my vehicle and motor home. Unfortunately this spoiled the time we spent there as we could not sit outside and enjoy the view and the weather. Would have given it a 9 if the bugs weren't so bad.
Stayed in the 100 Acres section of the park. The lot was large but uneven. Hope you don't get rain during your stay as the spots are muddy. Don't plan on having visitors unless you are willing to pay $8 each and then they can't park at your site. The staff was less than cordial. Would never stay here again.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. It is rustic with very nice sites that are large and private. There are plenty of trees for shade and you have many opportunities to see deer come right up to your campsite. If you enjoy and nice campfire, privacy and the view of a nice lake, I recommend you visit this park.
The park is near I-75 and is convenient to access from the Interstate. The park is clean and the staff is very friendly. Nice lots with cement pads. The traffic noise was not bad. Would recommend this park for short stays.
The spots are very close together. The park is clean and the staff is friendly but it is an older park and the electricity needs to be updated to support the newer RVs. Would recommend it for a short stay but I would never stay here for an extended period of time. This park is no longer a KOA.
