We stayed one week in this State Park. The park is very close to the Gulf: within walking distance. The park rangers and attendants were very courteous. It is a beautiful campground but the Gulf beach is spectacular. Be prepared for mosquitoes during the day and especially after sundown. They spray twice a week but need to spray daily.

We stayed for four nights in October. Beautiful SP and well maintained. Rangers and attendants were most courteous. Only problem we noted was the huge mosquitoes after sundown. It is only a short distance to the city of New Orleans and other various swamp tour attractions in the area.
