What a pleasant surprise! This campground is not a destination campground but a truly nice overnight (or short stay) place. The owner is one of the nicest, down-to-earth people and the campground serves it's intended purpose well. If more CG owners along the interstates would use this guy's business plan, there'd be no need to stay in a Walmart parking lot. We'll sure be back every time we go to Northwest FL (which is several times a year).
Good for overnighting. Shares the property with an RV dealership but they seem to "mesh" OK. All gravel roads and sites but clean and level. Best part was it was easy to get on and off the Interstate enroute to the Florida beaches. We would definitely stay here again.
Wow! This place is truly paradise. Convenient location, like being in the middle of nowhere yet you're in the middle of "everywhere." Clean campground, easy beach access (4 of them) and a super-friendly staff! No wonder it's so hard to get reservations.
Excellent park near all the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg action. Brand new office/store, freshly paved road surrounds the campground exterior (rest are graveled including sites). Just enough rules to make it pleasant to stay here without being too restricted. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Have stayed here several times and will continue to do so.
Friendliest staff I've ever met at a campground. At first seemed a bit "pricey," but considering all of the amenities it has, it's probably in line. This is more of a campground for younger campers with kids (or grandparents with kids), since there is so much for them to do. Great location, family friendly and plenty to do. We took our granddaughter and stayed here while we went to the Kentucky State Fair. After an hour at the Fair she wanted to come back to the campground. Would have given it a 10 if the roads had been paved. We will definitely return.
Very nice campground. Large, comfortable mostly level sites and well maintained. $10.00 entry fee charged when entering but covered by cost of campground fee(s) after the first day. Proximity of South Shore train station into Chicago very convenient (and reasonable). Couldn't drive and park there for the $7.90 fee ($3.45 for seniors 65+). The only complaint was that the staff at the camp store had several people "hanging around" the porch by the front door (appeared to be family members) and most were smoking. Pretty uncomfortable to enter and staff member wasn't the friendliest I have ever seen. Still a great place to camp.
This park is one of the nicest in the country. Owners/residents are all very friendly and the staff goes overboard to keep you happy. Very luxurious and fun to stay at. 55+. Price is reflected on renting for a month. Will definitely return!
Nice park only 15 minutes from downtown Memphis. Still recovering from major flood during our stay, but management doing a good job getting there. Access road still needs work. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only problems we encountered were lots of mosquitoes at night (on the river-bring bug spray). Would have given higher rating, but we paid for a riverfront site and a "tenter" with a box van truck parked on the grassy area in front of us obstructing our view. In defense of the park though, they arrived after the office had closed and left next morning (as did we). We'd stay here again.
Have stayed here three or four times over the years (when it was a KOA) but first time under the current owners. Park was very clean and staff (especially the owner) was courteous, friendly and very helpful (told me about an "unknown" route to Kentucky Speedway). Only reason I didn't give it a "10" was because of train tracks across the street but they really weren't that bad. I highly recommend this campground to anyone visiting the area.
Nice and clean. In process of rebuilding after being nearly destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. I had an accident because of poor signage identifying where to register. Employees very courteous and helpful. Seemed to be more "geared" towards "tenters" than larger RV's (especially on weekends). All in all a pleasant experience and I will definitely return.
Park was well kept. Not a lot to do if you don't fish. Very rustic and primitive and more designed for the "roughing it" type of camper. Bring lots of mosquito repellent, especially in the evenings. Probably not the campground's fault but the previous occupant of our site apparently had a large dog who left lots of large "deposits" around the campsite. I probably wouldn't stay here again.
Professionally managed and clean. Mostly full timers with a mixture of permanent housing and RV's (both permanent and transient). Office staff very friendly and helpful and the grounds were well maintained. If we return to the area, we would certainly stay here again.
