Great location, very close to shopping and restaurants in Arlington, and convenient to Fort Worth. Very nice park with lots of trees, asphalt interior roads with gravel pads. The premium sites have a concrete patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ grill. Propane is available, the WiFi signal was good as was the cable TV. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
Concrete interior roads and pads are pluses. The park is off the main road and surrounded by woods, making it very quiet and secluded. The camp hosts were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. A negative is that the last half-mile of the road to the park is gravel and washboarded in places; we went about 3mph for much of that to keep from shaking things loose.
Ruggedly beautiful, remote state park. Campground is set among a bunch of mesquite trees. The campsites are spaced far enough apart and, with the mesquite trees, there is plenty of privacy. There are quite a few hiking trails and the drive into the canyon is stunning. The Texas State Bison heard also roams through the park (but not the campground). It was definitely worth the trip.
