Owners were very nice and location was very convenient for a one night stop over on our way south. Not somewhere I would go for a vacation. Some of the sites are close together but the other campers were very quiet and the vibe was good. Although it is close to the highway, we did not notice any road noise.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in. Owners are European and it felt like we were in Europe. Lots of spaces for big rigs but we have a small trailer and felt very comfortable. We stayed across from the playground so the kids had the whole field and playset to themselves. Loved this place.

Nice place. We didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The sites where we were (#175) all have some sort of trees/vegetation between them so you have some separation. The surfaces are gravel and level. Older reviews talk about bad roads but that has been fixed now and the roads are smooth and well maintained. Campground was extremely quiet at all times. Many campers are from French speaking Canada and keep to themselves. We had a most of the sites are for tents. Our site was small for our trailer. We knew it was a 20 amp site but the 30 amp sites were not as nice so we squeezed in. Pool is great. Has a tree growing on a big rock next to it. Our kids loved that. Owners are nice.

We had a nice, big site (# 38) and loved this place. Planned to stay 2 nights and stayed 4. Very quiet, great hiking trails, nice area across highway 1 and on the coast. Loved it.

Not as crowded as many commercial campgrounds and had some really cool things like freshly steamed lobster, ready to cook dutch oven meals, etc. Campground was quiet and had a nice feel.

Nice lake with some great spots around the lake. Very quiet, nice owners. Some of the seasonal units are pretty run down but the people make up for it. Campground also has a group of very old and really cool cottages on the lake. They look fun. We had a good time.

Giant campground. We went in March during an unusually hot weekend. So, there were not as many people there. This is the type of place where it is essentially a big field with a few trees. Nice playground and pool facilities. We had a good stay because we were with friends but we generally don't like the parking lot style campgrounds.

Big campground with very nice pool and playground facilities. They did not allow us to pick our site in advance and there were some sites that would have been really bad - in the middle of road intersections within the campground or too tight. The site we got only had people on one side but there were seasonals on the other with people who had a TV on their deck. That sort of takes the camping out of the experience. The noise was not really a problem though. This campground worked for us because we were gone all day when we were there and then used the pool/playground when we got back from our trips. So, it is a good place to park your camper when you want to see Cape Cod but not a place I would go to hang out.

This is a big campground but is nice and didn't feel as tight as some. We had a site backing up to their small lake and it was nice to look at the lake. Noise was never a problem - I think the owners must do a good job managing that. Campground is a half mile walk to the beach with lots to do in the area.

This is a giant campground and we were not able to choose our site when we made reservations. The campground worked well for our needs. We left every day and spent the day outside the campground. However, it is not a place I would want to spend a lot of time. Our area had good people that were quiet, but in other areas, and especially near their bar, it was really loud with various campers playing different types of music. So, it was OK but probably very bad if you were in the wrong spot. Some people like mega campgrounds and, for those people, this is a good one.

Nice lake. Seemed like 75% of the campground was seasonal so there were a lot of very lived in units around. Some were nice, others were junked up. We had a good experience but the campground needed some work. Perhaps this was because we camped early in the season and they weren't fully cleaned up yet. There was no active presence of the staff so on Saturday night it got a bit loud. On Sunday the place cleared out and we moved to site 22 right on the lake. That was really nice. I can see this campground being very good under the right circumstances and not so good under the wrong circumstances. My guess is that since it is mainly seasonal there is less attention paid to the transient camper. Restrooms were very clean and well maintained and they do have a nice check in house where kids can go watch TV and buy candy. We had a good experience.

We reserved a site here but went in advance to check it out and decided to go elsewhere. This is just a field near the lake beach. There are only a couple of trees and it was one small step up from camping in a parking lot. I suppose if proximity to the lake is worth it you might not mind it. I couldn't see spending 3 nights with my family here. You probably have to see it to get the full effect. Yuck. (We did not camp here)

Great location. Lots to do in the area. Close to town but not too close. Like most parks everything depends on the site you get. Some sites are near the river which is right by the road and others are by a stream. Site 166 looked awesome - right by the stream. We had site 34 near the bath house since we booked very late. However, it was a decent site. Owner was nice, the other campers were family oriented - no loud partying. Bath houses could have been more updated but were fine except that they charge for showers which seems odd given that you have to pay for the site. Franstead family campground is better maintained in general and nicer but Lost River was good. We would camp there again.

Everything about this campground was excellent. The owners do a very good job taking care of the grounds and the visitors. A+

This is literally a parking lot. There are 7 spaces at the back of a large parking lot next to Echo lake. Unless you like looking at asphalt this is not the place for you. I had a 3 night reservation booked online. The online map made it look like a normal camping area. I left after one night.
