This is great for over night stop as it is close to interstate. The sites are long and wide with gravel and grass. Some have concrete pads for your table. Large dog area which our dog loved as she likes to run. Ants, large fire ant piles in dog area and some at sites. Security ? Campground is open to surrounding area which looks shady? Large park has the potential to be more than just over night stop! Still need to remove some older units that look like they have been left behind. If you are going to have residents then put them all together away from those of us that like to travel and camp! Some hook ups need attention, 30 amp on our spot did not have breakers shut off prior to hooking up! Cable was not mounted just lying on ground had female end and was lucky that it reached! Half a dozen units pulled in the night we did so I guess they see there fair share of traffic.
Well this is a seasonal trailer park at best, summer home for snowbirds!! A lot of semi-permanent items that look as though they have been here for many years. Some sites not so level and hook-ups that are scary, electric wires stapled to trees along with cable. Electric lines running through trees not far from RV's roofs and again secured to trees not poles. Sewer connections on angles instead of 90 deg. angles. Chipmunks galore there everywhere among the shaded spots and rocks. Cable did work and Wi-Fi was good. I would not stay here again.
This is a great campground (resort), all of the staff was very friendly. They provided our dog with a walk while we were away visiting the sights. They are expanding and making upgrades to older sites. Large dog park for the four legged ones. Wi-Fi was great at our site saw many Wi-Fi antennas through out grounds. They provided plenty of information for area items of interest. Water pressure is high so make sure you use regulator. I would have given them a 10 but our site which had a 50 amp outlet but it was not working. The 30 amp was fine as the temp's had cooled off and we used the heater. Cable TV was good, many channels.
This is still a new park but is very nice, we were on the stream which our lab loved. Splash pool has 3ft end air temp to cold for us but we did see kids in there. Everything worked well, nice landscape between sites, trees are still young. Pads on the bigger sites allow enough room for our 42 footer and our SUV. Tables and fire rings at each site. Use of heated pool and hot tub across street at hotel, very small two lane road to cross no problem. Great place off the beaten path in the busy side of the Smokes.
Have used this campground two times now for an overnight stop. You can not beat the price and everything you get in return. Staff is friendly, park is clean. sites are level, pull throughs are easy to get in and out even with TOAD. Easy access to and from I-75. Others should follow in their path, thanks for a pleasant stop.
This is a good little campground. Would have given them a higher rating, but I think some things they could improve. The WiFi is very slow. The staff was friendly and helpful. They are behind a commercial strip center which takes away some when sitting outside as the weather was awesome. Some sites have nice spacing, some are close but not too close. The lake is more of a pond.
Please improve the dog area, and clean or keep bugs out of bathrooms/showers and laundry room. Once the trees grow up it will help with shade and the heat. Tell the man that takes care of the pool: "Great job!!" Now that does not mean he owns it. I think he gets a trade/site for his effort. I don't think a bottle of water or a can of soda when the temperature is close to 98 degrees on the pool deck is bad for the pool.
It is a great park, you would think that Florida would upgrade other state parks to have full hook-ups and cable TV!! I did not give a 10 as I would like to see WiFi added throughout park. Plus, how about something for our pets. Somewhere that they can run and play without being a pain to the people that don't like pets. Fenced in area with water bowls and even an area they can get wet when it's HOT. Some pads need repair as they were cracking and falling apart, we are getting bigger and heavier RV's. As for the trails, how about collecting the pine needles that fall and get blown into the grass, and spread these on the trails? Will help for riding and walking in the sandy areas.
This looks like it use to be a great campground, and it still could be with some work. The bathrooms and showers were not clean. Not sure why, seem to be plenty of people in yellow shirts. The outside pool was disgusting the day we went to use it. You could not even see the bottom and the slide was out of service. The road to our site had water coming up through a hole the whole week we were here. Made a mess of some sites down below. Hole in road in front of our site was a hazard for foot traffic and bikes. They have rules which make for a nice place but they don't even enforce them. There were speeding vehicles with small kids on bikes, tents on cabins sites. Please improve signage on roads leading to front entrance, as several people all took the wrong turn as GPS directs, and were on backside of the river from campground. Pros: River front sites allow you to go right to water. Some of the RV sites are very nice with plenty of space and landscaping surrounding concrete pads. Water and electric were good, cable TV was fuzzy but was better when it rained. Wonder why they charge for WiFi when they should just add a dollar or two to the price of each site? Most all RV'ers want and use WiFi. $8 dollars per day seems very high. Wonder why campgrounds becoming trailer parks? It's one thing if you are here for several months as a work kamper. But when you have more things built around and next to your RV that would take one full day and several pick-up trucks to move everything, it's a trailer park. I want a place to visit, have fun and enjoy time with family and friends, not invade someone's backyard.
If 10 is excellent then I can only give them a 5 and that may be a stretch. We used this as stopping off point for I-75 while traveling north based on what others had stated. Dirt roads in campground with washed out areas and ruts. Pool was empty and full of leaves, seems this would make for extensive cleaning for summer use? Most people here, lived here. I believe RV Park is the new term for what I grew up calling a Mobile Home Park. These were not snowbirds or Full Timers RVers, unless you bring your dump truck with you! Man at check-in was nice but that is it for staff. Wife was scared and mad that we had stopped here, would not recommend it. Yes, sewer connections have green soda bottles sticking out of them. If I had not read it here, I would not have known that's where the sewer was.
Camped here several years ago before all of the expansion and what a change. The old section is still just that the old section. The biggest thing we noticed about the new area is the small number of bathhouses with showers. We used the steam shower it was cold before it ever made steam, not a true steam shower! If the park is year round then do not close everything, spa (hot tub) was closed off? Yes if it's 45 deg. out I want to use the hot tub. Sewer connections are high, but like the fact that there are 2 of them. Drive through pads are not level front to back this is the first time we have ever had to have the front tires off the ground to be level. Concrete patios would be great looks like cost cutting occurred and flagstone was laid in place. More lighting through out newer area, with so few campers in, it was very dark walking our dog. Fenced in dog area, let's get real and take the time and make it right. Look around at other campgrounds for great ideas for dog areas, take the lead we love our pets and we will love your campground. Exercise room was a small area with 3 cardo machines, they were in the massage room so not sure where the massage room was? If they keep working and strive to make improvements they will have a jewel. The staff was great did not see much of them after check-in but we didn't need to. Almost forgot, please add more locations to drop our trash. We like to empty ours at night and do not mine taking it out. Fences with some landscaping would hide them so not to take away from the beauty of the area.
This is a nice campground and has a lot to offer. Would have given them a 10 but the bath house in our loop was not clean. They had several camp hosts in the campground. Great pathways for walking, biking, and running. Our dog thought the dog park next to the lake was the best. Your vehicle pass will get you in to other county parks
This was a nice place to camp; lots for kids of all ages. We had motor trouble and were late getting there. They kept asking our friends if we were OK and even checked to see if another site would be better since we had to be towed in as we were only 5 miles from campground. Only negative thing was the firewood needed to be split into smaller sections and dried out for about another 4 months.
Do be fooled, we did not camp here but drove through to look since we live close by. I will say they have done a lot of work but still have a long way to go. Again this is not a RV resort or campground it is a trailer park!!! If you can plant your self for an unlimited time and have an electric meter it's a trailer park. they charge after 12 kw / day, even if your only there for a couple of days. The sites are grass some have broken concrete pads for sitting on next to them. Still have some trailers which look as though they have been there for many years. Roads had pot holes and some areas are still dirt. This is not a resort, maybe in a couple of years if they continue to make changes and improvements.
I would have given them a 10 but when does an RV Resort cross over to a Trailer Park. It seems more and more RV camping areas have become permanent homes to people. The staff was friendly and the newly reopened cafe was a nice amenity. They had a nice size fenced area for dogs which was great. The lake is very nice and we had one of the sites that looks out over the lake, a little pricey for a concrete pad that won't allow you to sit under your awaning. While everyone we met was nice and enjoyed the consevation. I hate to think those of us that like camping and have rigs that won't fit in some parks are left with trailer parks!
Quiet camp area with only a few other campers. Only a couple of 50 amp sites, Wi-Fi worked great at site in the motorhome. If you have kids they will enjoy the cave and outside games. Most sites are small, only a couple of pull-throughs. Other than host who works at the park no one else ever checked on things. Sites have small grills no fire rings. One bath house by large pavilion near the front.
This was a nice campground, but time will tell what Elite does with it. Some of their other properties are not so good. Pool was cold every day; thought it was just us, but when snowbirds are saying it is cold then you know it's not you! Last night there spa was broken and would be down until the next day. That reminds me, they were to have a campfire on Thursday night, well that didn't happen. We had wifi at our site, but I guess some did not. Friendly campers, but for those that have been here year after year were not happy with new owners. The reservation policy stinks, if you come here or make plans and something happens that you have to leave or can't come they will not refund you. Ice machine and soda machines only thing sold in campground, no store or supplies. Seems they are more concerned with getting your money than making sure you enjoy your stay. If you want to buy land then find a mobile home park. Cabins are for people that love to camp, and don't want to buy an RV or park model trailers. We camp for the outdoors, mother nature and quiet time with friends and fellow campers. Glad I was able to see this park before it is CRUSHED.
Great park, nice spot on river with new deck to sit on and watch the tubers. Only thing to not give this a 10 was the entrance on the main road was tight for 40' rigs. Then getting out of loop when leaving was tight due to bushes. Will return for sure.
This was a nice park, the owners were very friendly and worked hard to make sure everyone's needs were met. Thought I was having power issues had coach checked when I returned home all OK so leads me to think it was our site. Sites by the river were too short for 40' rig so we had to settle for the mountain view!
I will rate this campground low for one reason: the manager blamed us for the sewer smell. Our coach has a macerator added by the previous owners. It has good and bad like all things. We used it for 2 weeks over the summer with no problems. We stayed at this campground 3 nights and on the one day the manager wanted to blame our coach for making a STINK. I informed him the tanks were closed! But there was no convincing him that the problem might be with his system! If my system is closed, how would my odors be coming from his pipes which he told me he had to pour bleach down? He had already found us guilty, and no matter what I had to say, he was not going to listen. Won't stay at this KOA. Hope others aren't like this one. This was our first try at KOA and not so good!
