For a state park this place is a 10! The sites all had level concrete pads. The website to make reservations was wonderful. It even provides the slope per site so that you know what to expect. Not all sites are available for reservations, some are first come first serve. We also used Google Earth to preview the site since we were going to be traveling from Arizona and wanted to know what to expect. The bathrooms were very clean. We had 4 adults and 5 children. We had 50 amp service and there was a water faucet just across the road from our site should we have needed to refill our fresh water tank (which we did not). My sister-in-law is very picky about public restrooms and even she was impressed. The sites had fire pits, a lamp post to hang a lantern on, and picnic tables on a separate concrete pad. The lake level was a bit high due to the rain they have had this summer. We reserved two campsites side by side so that my brother-in-law could park his boat as well as pitch a tent for their family. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The beach was nice, and very clean as well. They have done a great job with this park. The camp hosts run a great ship. It is a hidden treasure.
We have stayed at this park several times over the past 3 years. We use it as a quick escape from the heat in the city of Phoenix. The staff is always very friendly. The pool is fairly new, I believe this is the second summer for this pool. The campground backs up to the forest and it has lots of trails for hiking and for those interested in using their ATV's. The older section of the park has lots of shade trees but the newer sections have limited shade spots currently. The park does have a lot of what they call "park models" which are trailer like cabins that are available for purchase. The site sizes are adequate, gravel, but level. Our kids really enjoy going to this campground and love the playground as well. Our youngest (6 years) wanted to spend his birthday there instead of having a birthday party.
Nice park. The sites were very well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We had a late check in and all the paperwork was there and ready for us when we arrived. Free breakfast, USA Today, and fresh baked cookies were a nice touch. Our price was for 2 adults and 2 children. We would stay here again but the park really is set up for an older crowd. We are not saying that they are not family friendly they just do not have the amenities for children. The addition of a pool would be nice as it was over 100 while we were there.
The park was clean. Roads were gravel but the sites were nice as well as level. There was a small playground for the kids and they enjoyed it. We stayed here because we stopped in town to visit some old family friends. We would stay here again if passing thru town.
We were pleasantly surprised with how nice this campground was. After reading some reviews that suggested that the sights were tight we were a bit concerned but this was not the case. It was a very nice park. The playground was wonderful and the pool and surrounding area was clean.
