Nothing fancy here. Just a quick pull-thru with full hook-ups for $18 - Good Sam discount - regular $20. Easy in and out, and close to I-35, but far enough away to be out of the noise. Good Verizon signal. Cable tv worked well, but there are only 5-6 channels. Supper at the Dinner Bell Cafe near the I-35 junction was good and reasonable. If you are looking for an over-nighter on I-35, stop here.
Really nice campground. Many sites are paved. Good over-the-air tv signal and 4-5 bars on horizon. Restrooms were not clean when we arrived, but we complained and they corrected the problem. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent campground run by friendly, professional people. Wi-Fi works great! Not too many sites for big rigs, but you can get in and out. Great place on a great lake. Super spot for a family vacation. Nice, clean swimming beach. We will definitely be coming back.
The rate reflects a weekly rate, but we only stayed for 6 nights; reasonable enough. This is a nice, clean, older RV park. Not a lot of "big rig" sites, so make sure you call ahead. The turn into the park (if you are coming from the south) is a bit tight. Plan to swing out a bit wide. The owners are really super and willing to help in any way they can. If we ever come back to International Falls, we would definitely stay here again.
Nice little RV park, but maybe not quite as perfect as earlier reviewers would indicate. The park is clean and well maintained. Just a few issues. I did not receive the Wi-Fi on my laptop. Verizon signal was 5 bars, so we used that. Close to the train tracks. Not too many trains, but very noisy when there are. The exit road has a steep, short rise getting out of the park. We would have drug our landing gear on this. Fortunately, the park was almost empty and we were able to use one of the other pull-through sites for our exit road. We would stay again if we were in the area.
Very pretty park with fairly easy access from I-35E. Park is modern and well maintained. I would rate this park much higher, as others have done, except for two problems. Minor problem - Wi-Fi was slow and unresponsive. We used Verizon. Major problem (for me) - $45 is getting up there for an overnight RV spot. The price includes $35 for the site, $7 reservation fee, and $2.49 for sales tax. I guess my real problem is with the $7 reservation fee. I think this is exorbitant. If I had a reasonable alternative in this case, I would have stayed somewhere else.
Difficult park for me to review. I will just try to stay with pluses and minuses. Pluses first - Nice family destination park. Lots of activities. Well maintained facilities. Minuses - Not really "easy access" from I-29, as it is about 6 miles away. $49 reflects the holiday weekend fee. Reasonable, I suppose, but we had the smallest back-in site we have ever had. We had room for the trailer, the truck, the picnic table, and the fire ring (as long as there was no fire). Entrance to the park was not good. Turn from the road starts immediately up a very steep hill. We scraped the front landing gear turning in. Not too bad for us, but based upon the pavement damage, many others had fared worse. If you want a family destination, this park is ok. If you are looking for somewhere to stay while visiting the area, choose something else.
It is a shame I am not rating this park as an 8 or 9. This is a gorgeous park - mostly all new. Sites are very nice, with good utility locations. Price is reasonable. Now for the bad - TRAINS. There is a very busy and noisy main railroad line that runs right past the property. If very loud noise all night bothers you, consider staying somewhere else.
Nice bay side campground. Well maintained. Good place to stay if you plan a week or more to visit Corpus Christi. You will need to obtain a MWR Guest Pass, unless you are in the military or retired. This costs $20, and takes a minimum of five days to obtain. Call them and apply ahead of time if you plan to visit. Really not much of a hassle. Wi-Fi was not too good, but our Verizon card worked just fine. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice country RV park. This place is just perfect for an overnight stay on the way home from/or on the way to the Rio Grand Valley. Host met us on his golf cart as we were driving in the front, and led us to our site. $20 for water, sewer, and 50 amp power is not bad. Wi-Fi worked as good or better than any RV park we have visited. Our site didn't have a table, or we would rate as a 9. Country store right across the street has a nice meat market and a great selection of local sausages. We will definitely stay here again.
The goods - this is a beautiful facility. Probably the nicest KOA we have used (we don't use many). Nicely laid out. Beautiful big trees. All facilities are in top shape and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Guided us to our site. Easy access from I-24. The bad - very close to I-24. If road noise bothers you, you need to avoid this park. Never received the Wi-Fi - might have been our location in the park. 4-5 bar reception on Verizon, so this didn't bother us. A bit pricey at $51. If not for the proximity to I-24 the price wouldn't be an issue, and the park would rate a solid 9.
Easy in and out from I-81, but far enough away so that noise is no issue. $25 cash per night (no credit cards) for full hook-ups, including cable TV. Wi-Fi is OK. Verizon reception good. Nice gravel interior roads and nice pull throughs. Not perfectly level in our site, but manageable. If you are passing through Baileyton, I would definitely say this is a good choice.
Price reflects a 10% Good Sam discount. Nothing fancy here. Gravel roads and small sites. The only thing that sustains the high price is the location. Wi-Fi was bad and the Verizon reception was very weak. Office employees are constantly on the phone. Expect to wait a few minutes until one of them can get a minute free. Liked Gettysburg, but not so high on this campground.
First of all, let me say that this park would probably not receive a 7 from me except for the location. If you want to visit NYC, and you want a convenient place to do it from: stay here. We made reservations about a month in advance. Getting there was a bit hairy, but we had no problems with our site. The person on duty (Labor Day) guided us to our site, and helped us with the back in. The sites are small, but the park has "big rig access". It was full of big rigs. We got our 35' HitchHiker and our truck on the site. Visiting the city on weekdays was easy, as you can take the NY Waterway ferry to pier 11 virtually from the parking lot. If you want to take the PATH train to Penn Station, it's about a .7 mile walk to the Grove St. station. The park isn't that great, and the drive in can be a bit scary, but if I go back to NYC for another visit, I will stay here again.
Beautifully forested park. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the park is in very hilly terrain. We camped in one of the pull-through sites. Very steep climb to our site, and then we drug the landing gear pretty severely on the entrance to our site. The main problem we had was the layout of the pull-through sites. Very close together, and the campfire pits are in the middle of the sites. As a result, our neighbor's campfire was only 10-12' from our bedroom window. Had problems with noise from the neighbors and smoke from the fire. The park did help us with the noise on the last night. There is also some noise from I-87 that is very close, but this wasn't a show stopper for us. This is a nice place for a camping destination, but if you are just looking for a place for a few nights while touring the area, look for something different. Either way, consider one of the back-in sites instead of a pull through.
Easy access off of I-87. Older park in very good condition. Not sure if 50 amp service is available in the park. We only had 30 amp at our site. Very nice people running the park. We arrived the day before hurricane Irene arrived. The people gave us a site that was sheltered by a nice, tall hedge. Rode out the storm in comfort. Clean laundry facilities. Wi-Fi worked well at our site. Would stay here again.
Nice choice of sites in a beautiful location. Friendly staff. They have hiking trails and lots of playgrounds for the kids. There is a visitors' center building that has tables for games and a book trade. Washer and dryer available for camper use. 44 miles from Niagara Falls. Would definitely stay here again.
Good park for a few nights to visit Louisville. Nice big pull-thru sites with good utilities. My only complaint about the place is the lack of a sign to indicate where to turn off of SR 480. I passed the turn and had to get my monster turned around and back.
This park is primarily for seasonal people to use. Very few transient sites. Our site was mostly grass, with a load of large diameter gravel (rocks) dumped on one end. It wouldn't be good to try to get a heavy rig in during a wet period. No sewer hookup - contrary to prior posts. The dump station is located in a very awkward location. I didn't even try to get my big 5th wheel down there. People are nice and it's in a good location to visit the Cleveland area. If you have a big rig, look for something else.
Nice park run by very nice people. Easy access from I-10, but far enough away so that it's quiet. Had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the park. I would have rated the place even higher if they had better cable TV service.
Nice park. Close to all Omaha activities. Water hook-ups not available on all sites, but close enough to easily fill your holding tank. Strong 30 amp service. BIG NOTE: I found out too late, but this is a COE park. Your senior pass will get you down to $7.50 per night. We will definitely be staying here again whenever we visit Omaha.
I cannot believe anybody who wasn't a family member of the owner would give this place a "10". First, the pros: level, clean, easy to get to from I-80. The cons: $37+ for this place is way over priced. We have stayed at nicer places every night for the last ten days, every one of them was cheaper ($25-$32), and every one of them had cable TV. They only have water faucets on every other site, so I had to run the hose under the trailer to the neighboring site. 50 amp box had no breaker, but instead, had a fuse. Wasn't sure what to do, so I plugged in hot. No harm this time. There won't be a next time. Not a really bad park, just way over priced. Should be in the mid $20 range, no more.
Nice park right off US 93. If you are looking for something convenient for an overnight stay while traveling on I-84, look at something else. This place is not an easy access from I-84. PROS: Nice, well maintained park. Cable TV is great. Laundry room was clean, in good condition, and reasonable. Good book trade. Nice shop in the office. Cons: WiFi is OK if you are close to the office, if not, you will need an extra antenna. Some sites don't have sewer hook-ups. Access to the dump station may require that you exit the park, and come from a different direction. Lady in the office helps people on the phone before she helps you. Overall, I think this is a nice place to stay, and I would stay here again, especially if I were planning a trip to Jackpot, NV.
This is park is in a wonderful location right on the shore of Lake Pearrygin. We stayed in the West campground. This is an old commercial campground that has been converted to a state park. RV sites are small and VERY close together. Noisy at night. The East campground is very nice, and is the original state park. If you can get a reservation for the east side, stay there. If you can only get the west side, go somewhere else. If rating the east side, I would have given it an 8 or 9.
Very nice park. Very well maintained. Three blocks from the I-5 exit. All facilities excellent. Would definitely stay here again. Price reflects the Escapees discount. Park is right next to an excellent outlet mall. They even have a coded gate for walking access to the mall.
Nice park. A few miles off of the Interstate, but no problem finding with the navigator. Pull through sites are bit close together, but access in and out is good. No cable TV in the pull through sites. Would stay here again. Price reflects the Escapees discount. Don't bother trying to eat the buffet at the nearby casino. They told us a 2 hour wait at 6 PM. They just want you to gamble.
Very nice park in a super location - beach. We only saw one pull-thru site, so plan on backing in. Lots of good sized sites. One caution about this park is getting to it from US101. From the south, our navigator took us on a very narrow and winding road called "Seven Devils". All paved, but a bit tight for a big rig. Google maps said to take Newmark off of US101. VERY steep hill going west from US101 on Newmark. Signs there limiting the use of the road to less than 15000 GVW. The best thing is to call the county on the number listed and get their directions.
OK for an overnight. New facility, and everything worked good. Coffee and donuts in the morning. I thought the price was just a bit on the high side. I was told that the $34 was a special deal. Will probably try the other place next time.
Nice facility, and easy access from I-5. Wi-Fi for this park is marginal at best. Had to use antenna to get reception. Called ahead to make a reservation (morning of our arrival), and was told that it was "half price night", and our fee would be $23. Good deal. Upon arrival a few hours later, we were told that it wasn't half price night, and our fee would be $37. We were told that it was a mistake by the girl we talked to, and we would "have to take it up with her". OK for overnight stay, but over priced.
On the plus side, this park is easy to get in and out of from I-10, but far enough away so that the noise isn't too bad. Pull through access is good. On the downside, the price has gone up from what is in the Escapees 2010 book. The price reflects the new, higher price, with the Escapees discount. CATV hook-ups are all female plugs, so you will have to go to the office for an adapter ($2 deposit) Wi-Fi was unusable without a directional antenna, and then it's only marginal. Just OK for a quick overnight.
Have stayed here before. Probably look for a different place next time. The price reflects the two week rate at Good Sam discount. It is $2 per day higher than what was quoted to me on the phone when I made the reservation. The man at the check-in just told me that the woman who quoted the rate was wrong. Not all sites have cable TV, so if you want that, you'd better call ahead and try to get one of those. Fresh gravel on the sites was mushy, and difficult to pull through. Area between gravel pull-thrus was grass, and lower than the pull thrus. As a result it was muddy. Wi-Fi worked well.
Easy access off I20. A little road noise, but tolerable. Easy maneuverability. Level, gravel sites. Owner very friendly and helpful. Cable TV (63 channels) and WI-FI worked perfectly. They even supply the cable TV hookup cable, neatly coiled on the utility post. Rate reflects the Escapees discount. We would definitely stay here again.
Back-to-back pull-through sites. Neighbor had to roll up his awning so I could pull in. Need to watch out when you are leaving. We had to pull back around the rear of the park to avoid two sharp corners we couldn't make with a long rig. In a nice location, but just too crowded, and too much money at $46/night.
OK place to stay for an overnight. Pool and hot tub are nice, but they close them at 8 PM. "Free" wi-fi is OK, but if you exceed their bandwidth limitations, they reduce your speed to dial-up numbers. Not really worth $45 per night.
Price reflects 30amp, full hook-ups with cable TV. Very nice place for an overnight stay. Close to I-90 exit. Lots of signs to direct you to the campground. Sites are all level, and there is plenty of room to maneuver. Propane is available on site.
Price reflects weekly rate with Good Sam's discount. Very pretty campground in an excellent location. Friendly staff helped with check-in, local area info, and directions to site. Gorgeous pull-thru site. Campground is a little hilly (easily negotiable), but the sites are nice and level, and the combination of the hills and the trees results in campsites with privacy. Restrooms are very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Nice gift shop in the office, and rental movies are available. Nice, clean laundry facility. Wi-Fi was a little slow at times, and there is no cable tv, otherwise this park is a perfect ten.
Nice campground run by nice people. The campground has plenty of room and nice, long pull-thru sites for any size rig. Full hook-ups, except no cable TV. I would have given them a 10 with cable. Wi-Fi worked good, even on the far end of the park. Would definitely stay here again. Wish we had more time to stay this time.
This is a pretty cramped park for big rigs, but it is in the greatest location possible. It may take you a little longer, or a little more effort to get your rig in, but it is worth it. There were lots of big rigs there. Very nice people at registration, and very nice people throughout the park. Great experience.
Not sure how this campground got so many 8's and 9's. It does not rate them. Check-in is a mess. Had to wait while gift shop customers were helped before check-in could proceed. Had made reservations three months in advance specifically for a pull-through site, and they had us assigned to a tight, 90 degree back-in site. After some haggling, they finally decided that they could put us in a pull-through. Our site was very small, and only had room for our 36' fifth wheel. Had to wedge the truck in to the side. The only room between rigs was taken by our picnic table. Very cramped park. After all of this, the Wi-Fi was a waste of time. It is there, but not usable: and we have two computers to try. Next time we will stay at Wal-Mart.
Nice clean park with full hook-ups. No pull-thru's, but pads are positioned well for backing in. Check-in at the main building is a bit of a hassle if you get there at a busy time. Price includes daily park entry fee.
Great place for an overnight stop. Easy access to the park. Great for big rigs. Arrived at 4:30PM and had no trouble getting shown to our site, and assisted in positioning the rig. Good facilities. Wifi and cable were good. Would have been an even higher rating for us if Turner Classic Movies was on the cable.
Perfect location for a visit to Sheridan. Easy access from I-90. Well laid out park, very well maintained by friendly owners. Wifi works very well. Don't miss dinner at the Wyoming Rib and Chop House, or a jar of Mrs.Peter D's crab apple jelly.
Clean place to stay long enough to have a nice visit at Pioneer Village. They do have wifi available in the motel office, if you need it. We were offered a full hook-up site with 30 amp service. I don't know if they have 50 amp sites available. Some train noise, but it didn't wake us, as we had the ac on.
Nice park, in a nice location. Reservations made ok with the phone call method. Park caretaker is a 34-year veteran, and was very friendly and helpful. Would have rated the park higher, but the price has gone up to $20 per day for a 30 amp site with water, but no sewer. In addition, some city official has decided that they no longer need wireless internet, so you don't get that, either.
Easy access. Very friendly staff. Pull-thru sites are gravel, but level. WiFi worked well. Trash picked up at the sites every morning. Price is for 50A with cable TV, with a Good Sam discount. Will definitely stay here again.
Rate is based upon a weekly rate. Nice small park in quiet location. Many return "Winter Texans". Very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside is very poor Wi-Fi. The manager said they are going to upgrade this soon.
Nightly rate is for bayfront site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Two caviats - 1. If you have a big rig, plan to camp in the bayfront sites. Wooded sites are mostly small. 2. Try to get one of the lower numbered sites on the bayfront. The west end (higher numbers) gets more spray during high winds.
Nice park, in a nice location. Would have rated the place higher, but when we tried to make a reservation to stay for a month this February, they wouldn't make the reservation. They told us we could either take first-come first-served, or pay for the month starting at some point before our arrival - paying for something we weren't getting. Not good. They evidently only want short stays.
Perfect location. Overall just average campground. Sites are just OK. Park maintenance is done at minimum. New Internet service is mediocre, at best. Overloads at peak periods. All this being said, we have already reserved our site for next winter.
