We stayed in the newer section. Nice paved or compacted gravel roads, paved level pads. Newer section has little shade but management has planted trees throughout the park for future shade. Nice park and we would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in a 42 ft. rig and had a little trouble getting through the turns in the road to our campsite. Turns are quite tight but management was going to try to correct the problem by widening the turning radius of access roads. Only a few paved sites; all the rest were dirt.
Park has only a few sites suitable for big rigs with 50 amp services. No paved roads or sites which can be a problem when it is raining. We have stayed here many times and really like the park. You have the ocean on one side (across highway) and river on the other side. Everything is within walking distance. If traveling in big rig try to get their newer sites on back close to river. Need to call well in advance in order to get reservations.
Very pricey, and sites are really close together. Not the greatest place for pets. No place to really walk them and they are not allowed in beach area.
Nice park but the sites are tight to maneuver in a large RV; just enough room for small paved patio and picnic table between sites. All streets and sites are paved. Have a nice fenced area for pets.
Nice park with paved sites, wide access roads, nice pool and very clean. Short drive to Kemah Board Walk, nice place to people watch and find good restaurants.
Nice park; kind off the beaten path but quiet and very open. Good place if you have pets. Easy in and out. Several covered areas with picnic tables, horseshoe pits, volley ball court, swimming pool and jacuzzi, fishing ponds and meeting rooms.
Brand new park that is still a little rough around the edges, but has all the makings of being a really nice park when all landscape is mature and the manager has all the bugs worked out. When we got there it had been raining and everything was really muddy, but dried out nicely by the end of the week. Big rigs sites are in lower level and it is a hike up hill to the clubhouse and all the facilities. Sites are compacted gravel with paved interior roads. Management and staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great family campground. Lots for the children to do.
