It's unusual that we find a park that really flips our switch, good or bad. This place did it. And, not in a good way. We were looking to stop in the Colby, KS area for the night. There were no recent reviews of this park since this time last year, so we were curious and stopped by. By "stopped by", we don't mean we drove through the entrance. We mean we found the park next to a Walmart. We parked at Walmart and wandered in (easy, too easy). Here is what we found. We probably wouldn't have found the park in the first place had we not been fortunate to see the EXTRA-small camper sign that directs you to the park. You know the one, a 1 square foot blue background with white relief of a trailer you see along County roads. Yep, that's all there is here. We can't imagine how many potential customers have missed that. Wished we had. It is no longer called Bourquin's RV Park & Restaurant. The restaurant is dead. It is now Bourquin's RV Park & Farmer's Market. We didn't see any farmers, or a market, just poor passer's-by who paid money to park there. This is a teenie-tiny RV park charging premium prices for teenie-tiny sites. Not as bad as KOA, mind you, but close, and still charging WAY too much for what they were selling. Sad! We truly felt sorry for those who'd paid to stay there. At least the owners didn't presume to call the place a "Resort" and charge yet another $3 per night. The park's only claim to fame is it is a very, and we mean a VERY short walk to Walmart (lock EVERYTHING up). That's the best we can say. We didn't check to see if we would be allowed to park at Walmart for free. We suspect not. By-the-way. There were at least two motels in town that advertised less for a single room than Bourquin's charged for their tiny pieces of dirt. Not at all a fair deal for the RVer. We'd have paid $20 for a night at this place, if they'd talked real pretty. $15 if not. Not a penny more. We decided we could drive another hour or two, and did. WE DID NOT STAY AT THIS PARK!

Can't answer the previous posts about sales tactics. We are RoD members, so we were able to skip that part. We will, however, ditto the tight roads, but we managed with a 38' MH. Nice folks at check-in and nice neighbors too. Spaces are tight, but again manageable. We stayed with our RoD membership. Free with $3 for 50A elec. Free WiFi.

This is our second time here. Last was Nov. 09 and what a difference the time of year makes. In 09, the place was nearly empty, in Feb it's nearly packed. They found room for us just the same and honored PA to boot. Free functioning WiFi.

Good, if older, park just east of Tampa. Tight, but doable roads. We've stayed here twice now and it has been good both times. Great and helpful staff and friendly permanents.

This is the ONLY KOA we stay at by choice. Very nice smallish park. Good sized sites. Everything works and is well maintained. Best propane prices we found in the area. They make their own deals, so you can often get a decent rate rather than the standard KOA overpriced rip-off. Free WiFi. Rate listed is daily for $750/mo + elec (not bad for south Florida in December.)

Good for an overnight. Was probably great in it's day, now run down and a bit shabby. Confusing traffic pattern. We came. We slept. We left. PA rate w/ 50 A Electric.

Good place right on the main drag in MB. Tight and busy. Well maintained. Lots to do in the park if you're looking. We just slept here as we were out and about all day. PA rate.

Western Horizon Membership Park that has seen better days. Hard to be specific since everything seemed run down and unkempt. Getting out of the park and onto the highway is down right dangerous. Blind curves in both directions with 55 MPH speed limit. Rate is RoD for 50A Elect. Tengo Pay WiFi.

This place was a most welcome surprise. Well kept, well run park. Large sites. Has "Upper" and "Lower" sections. Upper has mostly 50A FHU; Lower has 30A/W, but no S. Great walking paths through the woods. Go visit and help a good campground stay in business

Nice Regional park close to a couple of Metro stations for an exciting ride into DC. Very basic. Electric only. Water stations every 100 yards or so in the RV loop. No sewer. Dump station at park entrance. Interesting interpretation of their "Maximum 2 vehicles per site" rule. A MH is a vehicle, so you may only have 1 other. A trailer/ 5'ver is not a vehicle, so you may have 2 vehicles in addition. Is a MH a vehicle by legal definition? Certainly. Is it a vehicle when it is parked and now a camper? In practice, no. But, it's their take on the rule and they stick to it. Strictly enforced too. Usually not a problem, but we were here visiting family, so we had to move our car out to the maintenance parking lot before visitors arrived. Kind of silly, really. Picked up a load of "stink" bugs too. They don't really stink. Trying to get rid of them does.

Really, a great place. We were RoD so cost was $0. Had 30A/W/S. Plenty happy. Well kept and managed park. Involved residents who welcome transients. Always saw someone cutting, trimming or fixing something. Had to go to the Snack Bar for WiFi, but no biggie. Just needed email. Who wants to spend all day online at a place like this with weather like we had. Lots to see and do in the park. Drive 20 miles east and catch a train to NYC. Can't say enough good about the place. First place we've stayed that qualifies for the "Resort" label! We'll be back.

This place has potential to be a great place, but they miss even the mediocre mark. A full page of rules are presented to you on arrival and we saw each and every one of those rules violated during our stay, with most of the rules about pets repeatedly so. You must report violations. No one in the employ of the "Resort" seems to care otherwise. Sorry, we're here to enjoy, not rat out our neighbors. Be careful of the sales dude in his golf cart. He'll mow you down. Disappointed is the best we can say. We were pleased to move on. Rate is RoD. We will not return.

An interesting place. Obviously a former ski area, it has become an RV park, and the owners are working hard at it. This isn't a full service resort type place. Seems to be a place for the locals and that's fine with us. It's pretty typical for older parks in the NE. Our only real complaint would be the "surprise" daily pet fee for more than one pet we discovered when making reservations. No biggie, except this fee is a first for us, and some seasonal folks near us had enough animals with them to at least double the nightly rate we were paying. So, we get the feeling this was really a tourist fee that doesn't apply to the locals. Nit-picks aside, if they continue to improve the place as it appears they have so far, this will become a little gem. If were in the area, we'd stay here again.

The previous reviewer was spot on. Nice park with great potential and a bargain at the rate. The park is divided into two areas. The upper area is next to the road along side the park (a bit of traffic noise but, not bad). These sites have E (ours has 50A)/W/S. The "river" sites are indeed by the river. The river is small and currently not flowing. These sites have E (not certain on A)/W but no S. The park has better than average WiFi and a reasonable chance of catching a satellite. The two bathroom buildings are clean but, old but, plans to upgrade. Staff is excellent! We are very happy with the value for our money here. For certain, a hidden gem. Come. Spend some time. Help a good park survive.
