We chose this campground for an overnight stay because of the giant billboard advertising HOT TUB. Price of the site $36 with Good Sam discount) was appropriate for a campground with this kind of amenity; however there is NO HOT TUB on the premises. We might have given this park a 9 out of 10 because the people were so polite, friendly and hospitable, and the park is beautiful but ...false advertising! "Admin note: Received an email from park owner over this problem. Owner could not afford the high cost of $15,000 to keep the hot tub open and meet ADA compliance. He has removed all advertisement over the hot tub for 2013 and the billboard company had not taken down the sign as of yet. The hot tub will be removed."
This is our second time staying at Dakota Ridge. The park is immaculate and staff are friendly and helpful. It has blazing fast Wi-Fi, pool, hot tub, clubhouse with kitchen area, dining tables, large-screen TV, book exchange, pool table, and small fitness room. We plan to stay here again next time we're in the area.
Staff was polite and helpful. Pool, showers, and laundry are immaculate. Service in the saloon was prompt and friendly. Saloon itself is small and smoky (like most of LV) but there is an outdoor patio area in the back which has shade and fans, and is really nice. Other reviewers have mentioned this park is in a "seedy" part of town, but I could not disagree more. We went to stores and restaurants that were close by and at no point felt that there was any danger. We would definitely come back without hesitation.
This is a small, older campground, run by a friendly and helpful older gentleman who was very kind to us. Not an elegant campground ... so if you're looking for glam-ping, don't come here. It's not manicured, but it's clean and the basics all work. We would definitely come back again.
