Stayed here a couple times a year for the last 4 years. Excellent place if you are a BoatNerd! Park has Wi-Fi, but it can be sketchy the farther your site is from the office building (They need to have someone work on better coverage). Restrooms are brand new and very clean. Showers are private and very clean. Staff is very friendly. It would be nice if the city would begin planting trees to create shade. There are very few trees and you will most likely be in open sun. Camp sites are not bad size with water hookup and 30amp (with some 50amp) service. If you want to get a riverfront site a reservation is a must and then good luck as they are usually in high demand and given to the multi-month stay for the whole season people. Campground says this isn't true, but if you are there enough you see the same people on the same sites.

The campground is right on Whitefish Bay in Brimley Michigan. For a state park, the campsite sizes are any where from big to HUGE. You just have to know what sites to get. There are plenty of shade trees. With the campground right on the lake, a strong North West wind blows off the lake and the site along the lake tend to be breezy (anchor your awning). The number of restrooms for the size of the campground is inadequate. The restrooms are also old. The State of Michigan had a program a few years back where they were building new restrooms at state parks and Brimley was not one of them. Overall, it is a nice place to stay a few days as a base camp.
