We stayed during the Tulip Festival and found the campground not 1/2 full. Sites were adequate but for some without skill navigating trees on their sites it could be a problem. There were 5 units in our group, and getting sites back-to-back was great. The park has a NO-Alcohol rule but that was not a problem for our group. Hiking trails in the park with dunes, beach, lake fishing, boat launches, disc golf, and marinas nearby was a joy. Local restaurants were great and prices reasonable. We will probably all return.

We stayed in the East, old, end of the campground. These sites are huge. All three of us needed to park way into the sites so cords and hoses could reach the utilities. Fire pits are located well and away from normal trailer parking spaces. Wood was available from the office and they loaned a wheelbarrow to guests. Management of the park were very friendly and accommodated a late cancellation due to illness of one of our party of four. The park has a nice beach, clean restrooms, but only one dump station which ends up giving a backup when leaving. We were able to watch and not get caught in the backup. Many waterfalls, Picture Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, and the Lake Superior shoreline provided plenty to do in the area.

We stayed in the East campground, sites 34, 36, and 28. All were very deep and had a good level grassy area for the trailers. Great place to walk the park and trails. Many places to get to the water and sand to start swimming. Visited Fayette and Palm Book State Parks along with the town for shopping. Two lighthouses, water tower, fish hatchery, Siphon Bridge and 2 mile boardwalk made the area interesting.

We stayed in the upper campground, sites 254 & 256, due to the size of our travel trailers. The noise from I-75 was not too much for sleeping or enjoying the trails and views of the Mighty Mac. Saturday St. Ignace had a free concert and we ate at one of the many restaurants in town. A grocery was just outside the park as were all other types of shops. Stayed here due to Silver Mtn. Disc Golf course closeness, and enjoyed walking the area for two days. Park was very clean, grassy, shaded, with the classic UP feel. Power level was good and got several clear TV stations. Good cell reception.

Our annual week was in sites 1, 2, and 3 that back up to the volleyball and playground. An advantage for walking the dog and watching units come in. Extremely hot weather made air conditioning mandatory and the park electric grid held up even tho the park was filled every night. Rangers and the Host made you feel safe and well taken care of. Having water at the contact station on entry and slinks at the dump make those two tasks go very quick. A nice touch at only a few state parks. The water in Lake Huron was low so the Piping Ploovers had taken over some of the beach area on the lake side and it was restricted from walking the shoreline. There is still plenty to walk and the beach was full. Visited Lumbermans Monument and Largo Springs as is our custom and access is easy from this park. The city had two concerts free in town with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from for eats and drinks. We will return next year with more in the group. A park you don't want to miss.

This was our first trip to Mitchell and it won't be our last. The sites were clean, well kept, and deep enough so the trailer was off the road with room for truck along the road. In park roads were wide enough so there were no problems navigating the park. Locations of eating establishments outside the park made the stay even better. Fishing is available in the park, along the canal, or across the road at the day use area. Dump facilities were well done with room for four rigs at the same time. Fresh water was available through out the park via faucets. Activities were planned for the weekend but we left before that. The city of Cadillac, hiking trails, and disc golf activities kept us busy for the entire week. We will return in the future.

We were here before the schools got out for the summer and the campground was mostly empty. We stayed in the upper campground and were pleased. Users were spaced out and the entire campground was quiet. Rangers had everything clean. The fire pits were cleaned out, firewood is available, and canoe/kayak rentals are already available. The beach was raked and ready. We enjoyed all of the trails both around the lake and through the woods. Will be back here.

We went here as the last camp out of the year in October. The campground closed the day we left and we will not be back each year. The park was clean, including all of the restrooms, showers, office and store. There were no rentals of canoe or boats as the season in Michigan was ending. We were greeted very well and treated fantastic by the owner and his help. The sites are varied with most all grass and quite level. You are not dictated as to the exact placement of your rig and can 'circle the wagons' of a small group on adjoining sites. If you are looking for a quiet park with great treatment then come here and enjoy the park.

We were in the park for the last three days of their season. Very few people in the park but we still got the best treatment with a very clean park and friendly service. Since we were late in the season it was only $20 per night.

The family that runs this is very helpful and nice. We had great sites. Most are separated by a row of trees. There was little to no noise from other campers.

We were traveling through and the sites were great for what we used. It is not a destination site unless four-wheeling the state trails.

This was the typical KOA. Very clean, lots to do, great help from the staff, well maintained park. They had a variety of areas for kids, travelers, and seasonal campers. Some areas had shade and some were for sunny days.

We were ahead of the season and there were only 4 other sites occupied. The restrooms were cleaned every day, showers had plenty of hot water, and the park was very clean and free of trash and debris. Were here with 3 other rigs and had a great time. The weather was still a little cool but walking the trails and around the lake was relaxing. We will come back.

The park was very clean and hosts were helpful. They provide information regarding the surrounding area. Sites were adequate but not overly large. Length was good and most sites were paved as well as level.

Park was very clean and felt safe. Hosts had information as well as the ranges. Walking the beach involved climbing flat rocks which was very nice. There is much to do in the park regarding sightseeing and hiking. Will return here if in the area.

This park was very quiet and seems safe. Park officials were helpful.
