Very scenic state park with level sites with good space between. Nice shelters with table and fire ring (buy some wood for campfire in Quitaque). Numerous mountain bike and hiking trails. We saw bison up close (do not approach or try to feed), a roadrunner, and a prairie dog town. Very friendly and helpful personnel at the interesting visitor's center. Be warned the center closes at 5 PM. Only ding was confusion on the assigned sites. We had made a reservation weeks in advance, but camp host was confused and did not have correct information as to site that was assigned. The campground was crowded and it was every man for himself. No sites were marked as reserved and some people were blocking sites with chairs, and people without reservations were taking sites, although the sign at the entrance said all sites were reserved. Camp host was clueless as to assigned sites. The site assigned to us was incorrect, a 30 amp instead of 50 as reserved, and someone had already taken that site anyway. To be fair, the host said it was his first day on the job. Suggest they put notices on the sites as "reserved" with name of camper. A minor annoyance. We will return.

Resort type commercial park with all the amenities. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Nice layout with easy in and easy out. Very friendly staff. Every morning garbage pickup at your site is a nice extra touch. The only demerit is that the site was not quite level; although, it was not a big problem. We stayed 3 days and would definitely stay here again.

A really nice state park with good level sites and good separation. Scenic area when the cottonwood trees are changing colors in the fall. Interesting small museum at the park headquarters. Wild turkeys, deer, coyotes abundant in the area. Friendly park staff. Park also had a star watch with an incredible starry sky. Longhorn Ranch, a great steakhouse, about 10 miles to the west. The park has the official state herd of Texas Longhorns. Hiking and mountain biking available. A good place for a relaxing weekend. We will go back.

This is OK for an overnight stay and the price is certainly right, i.e . free. Located in the city park. There is a 3 day limit. A dump station is available. 20 and 30 amp electric and water. There are 10 sites, all back in. The park is a pretty place to walk. There is some road noise but not bad. The $ 1.00 is not charged, but the review would not post without a charge being entered.

The last reviewer is right on. The man at the front desk, who led us to the site, couldn't even manage a "Hello" or any kind of a welcome. Very un-Texan like. The sites are ok, wide and level, but we detected a sulfur smell to the water. Noisy trains close by, but Wal-Mart is handy and within walking distance. We'll probably stay here again as it's the only choice in Vernon.

This park is advertised as Santa Fe's Enchanting RV Resort. However, it is not enchanting to have your neighbor's sewer connection within 3 feet of your picnic table. The hookup for water is located in a pit below ground level which is hard to reach and harder to get connected. You have to get on your knees to reach. Sites are extremely close. There is no room to sit outside. Restrooms are clean and Wi-Fi is fast. Due to the cramped sites, we will not return. Also too expensive for what you get.

This a very nice state park. The sites are gravel, wide and level, and have a table and fire ring. Some sites have a shelter over the table. Water and electric are good. Sites have good separation and are very private. However, the restrooms were dirty although useable. While there was no view of the lake from our site, it was only a short walk on a well maintained path to an overlook of the lake. A very peaceful place.

Good campground. As usual for a KOA a little pricey for what you get. Sites are level with good hookups. Sites are close together as is typical for a commercial park. Has a small heated pool. A few trees but very little grass. Wi-fi worked good. Friendly staff with escort to site.

This is a very nice, commercial campground. The setting is scenic with lots of big trees. The bathrooms are kept very clean and Wi-Fi is excellent. Most sites look to be level, but the first one we were assigned was not, but the staff quickly assigned us another one that was level. Hookups are good with good water and electric. Sewer connection was convenient. Some sites have cable TV, although ours did not. But a view for the satellite was good. My only ding was the first unlevel site and since I'm old fashioned, I was put off by the multiple facial piercings, tank top and tattoos of the woman at the desk.

OK for an overnight. Basically a parking lot with hookups with very little greenery. Some small trees. Some perks like ice cream in the afternoon and breakfast offered in the morning. Friendly staff with escort to site. Level gravel sites with good length. Good water pressure, and we had no problem with electric. Very close to neighbor but with picnic table.

We stayed two nights for the Tour de Pepper bicycle ride. Nice shady campground, level sites. The price is right. However, electric service was unreliable as it fluctuated and there is no dump available. About 100 yards from the campsites is a building that is rented for parties and Saturday night there was a party with loud music until midnight. Also, quite a bit of road noise. There are no tables or fire rings or grills.

Very friendly owner and level sites with full hookups. Good Wi-Fi, water and electric, but cable TV very snowy, had to use the satellite. No table, some road noise and no other facilities, i. e. showers, restrooms.
