Well maintained campground, quiet at night, clean. Dog friendly. We were here 2 nights. Originally they tried to put us in a site that was too small for our rig, but then we tried another one and it was perfect. Lots of things to do in the area, especially hiking and activities at Acadia NP. We would stay here again.
Very nice campground, well maintained and friendly staff. This is our second season camping here. The campground is located on the banks of the West Canada creek, actually a river, and the opportunities for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, etc., are superb. Since the weather was in the 80's we appreciated the river sports. They also have a nice pool, a great playground and a sports area in the camp, such as volleyball, softball, as well as equipment for small children. It is located in the foothills of the Adirondacks and is a short drive to places like Old Forge: a large tourist town. As a family campground, this one is hard to beat.
Stayed overnight. Plain Jane campground but clean and well maintained. Very few trees but landscaping seems to be ongoing. A lot of overnights when we stopped - people going to and from Florida for the most part. Friendly staff, close to I-95. Would recommend this park and would stay again.
Camped overnight. This is a private camp that accepts patrons that are not members for limited camping - up to 2 weeks. The sites are roomy, roads good, location quiet and clean. Had trouble with my converter while there and the staff was very helpful in getting me to the right people. Close to the Interstate highway and easy on, easy off. Would stay here again. Only Con was the price was a little high and they didn't accept GS discount.
Stayed overnight. Had a pull through site and everything worked well. Although the campground overall is cramped with just about enough room to maneuver, it is well maintained and has a lot of amenities plus being close to Washington DC. Pricey. Since there isn't a lot of competition in the general area, this campground is probably your best bet in the DC area. The traffic is horrendous, almost all of the time.
We camped here overnight and the facilities and staff couldn't have been better. Room to maneuver our 5th wheel into the site, wide gravelly roads, full hookups. Campground is well maintained and quiet as it is in a semi-rural area. Would definitely stay again.
Nice campground and close to I-95 in a very congested urban area. We were initially assigned a site that we needed to back into with motorhomes and numerous cars parked in the street making it almost impossible to accomplish. We asked for another site and they gave us a pull-thru which was nice. However, it appeared that maybe 75% of the sites were empty and we were staying overnight only. Why such a difficult site was my question. Anyway, the price here is absurd. I know this is Washington DC but the going rate is more than double what one would normally pay for a campground in almost any state in the US. Overall, it's not worth it.
We've camped here for years going to and from Florida but with the change in ownership in the past couple of years the atmosphere is not friendly and the price has gone up substantially. Good paved roads, well equipped store, good facilities but the attitude again is a turn off. We will not be going back here again.
Nicely located in heart of Wilmington on the Ausable River. Good roads and well maintained sites. Very friendly staff - helpful with directions and with things to do in the area. Family oriented campground. Would stay here again.
Excellent CG on bank of West Canada Creek. Very family oriented - cabins, tents, RV's - good campground for tubing and canoeing the river. Good shuttle service. One of the best we have been to in New York state. Very friendly and helpful staff. Park is well maintained, sites are mostly level - we were in a grassy one and it was immaculate. If you like to fish, canoe or swim, you won't go wrong here.
Very nice campground just east of Bennington off Route 9. Owners are among the most friendly one would ever meet. Very helpful. Well maintained park, good facilities. Only negative is lack of sewer hookups but there are two dump stations so no problem getting out in the morning. Have been here a couple of times before and will continue to use this CG when traveling in this area.
Nice campground at end of Desert Road. Tight maneuvering through tall pines in the campground but well maintained roads and nice fairly level sites with E-W-S hookups. No cable or Internet other than a hookup in the office itself. No Wi-Fi. Handy (2 miles) to LL Bean and all the outlet stores. Very friendly and helpful staff. We also stayed here for another over nighter in early October.
Campground has changed ownership in last several years. The maintenance of the grounds and roads has degraded since the change but the attraction here is the Big Eddy on the West Branch of the Penobscot and the fantastic fishing and wilderness experience. We are 35' long, had some trouble backing into our site due to the placement of stones following a "curved Pattern" -- but got in OK. Next time will try for a different site. We were on the river - electric is available a few hours in the AM and PM and the rest of the time you're on your generator (if you have one). A big negative with this CG is no dump station. You have to carry into town and dump at the municipal water treatment plant or your next destination. The access road(Golden Road) to the CG is VERY rough. Go slow or expect to have repairs needed when you leave. Closer to Millinocket than Greenville.
