The sites are assigned when you get there. The RV park is big rig adequate. The trees touched a little. The RV park has the location, location, location, but all the sites are not equal. After walking around the campground we noticed some of the sites were better. The site we had was not level and not maintained. It was high at the front and sloped to the left. It took some work to level. We would not call this site 38 foot friendly except that is was long enough. A big curb on the left side and a picnic table were the only "improvements". The site was wide enough. There were a lot of rental RV's in the campground. We noticed even though the park said "full" there were still some available spaces in the morning. Should reservations be cancelled at 5 p.m.? The cable TV had a minimum of channels, and some of them said not available. No Wi-Fi. We could not get AT&T cell service. We would stay here again only because of Grand Canyon National Park.
After climbing the 6 % grade west of Kingman take exit 51 or 53 off I-40 to four lane Airway Ave., which leads to easy in and out for a big rig at Zuni. The park is in a commercial area convenient to most franchise, grocery, drug, or fuel stores that anyone could want. Registration is friendly and easy. Landscape is appropriate to the high desert. Pine trees, well trimmed, are between sites. Sites are wide, and there is good space between sites. There are permanents here in their own area. The pool was empty, we assume, because of the time of year. The roads are paved. The sites are near level graded from the packed sand desert soil. Cable TV had a maximum of channels. Wi-Fi was strong with no problem. The bathrooms, showers, and washers are at the main office on Airway Ave. The clean bathrooms have a code lock on the door. We like this park, but we give this park a 7 compared to the 10's where we have stayed. We have stayed here several times, and we will stay here again.
Look for the park on a small street off Anaheim Blvd. No park signage on the corner. A little tight to maneuver with 38' trailer as some streets are narrow. Trees were trimmed out of the way. Camped in premium site. The site was just wide enough for our awning and slides, but this is urban camping. There are small grass areas between sites. A sound wall gives protection from noise from the Santa Ana Freeway. The park is in the vicinity of the Orange Crush interchange. The cable TV had many channels, but it was very weak on lower numbered stations even after the maintenance man’s repair. Changed our cable wire several times. Could have used a weather channel during the stormy weather we had at the time. Wi-Fi was very good. Individual shower/bathroom was completely tiled and clean, as were the heated pool and hot tub. There are complimentary muffins & coffee in the morning. Resort close to Disneyland/tourist stuff in OC (Orange County) and LA (Los Angeles). Fun time had by all. We will stay here again.
Park is located in a functioning orange grove with a rural friendly country ambiance. There are orange trees between each site. The spaces are roomy. When the oranges are ripe you are allowed to sample them. Cable and Wi-Fi worked very well. Pool was not heated. It was easy to maneuver our 38' trailer in the park and access to the park is easy. There are train tracks half mile away which adds to country atmosphere. Everyone in Bakersfield can hear the train. We had a great time here, but grade on the curve. We will stay here again.
Easy in and out for 38' big rig. Wi-Fi was excellent. Cable TV had local and home shopping channels. Concrete pad had room for patio and picnic table. The levee around the park had a lot of day use. The grass was brown this time of year. Friendly office staff. Would stay here again.
Tight turns for 38' big rig. Concrete pad was narrow. The best spots were taken. Backed out of pull through, otherwise, would have a hard right turn followed immediately by a 140 degree hard left turn around a steel post at the corner to protect lawn. There were plenty of cable channels. It is close to Camping World in Wilsonville. Gas station/market across the street. Truck stop west of I-5. Pool closed.
Park is easy in and out for a 38' rig. Paved roads and fairly wide gravel sites (awning friendly). Check in is now at the Travel Center, not the kiosk. Bathrooms and showers are at the Travel Center for a fee. The Travel Center is large, new, and staffed during its business hours. Pet sitting is available. Point your bat wing antenna toward the East for TV. The Wi-Fi antenna is on the pole abeam spot #48. We have stayed here before and will stay again.
The freeway exit and entrance are lengthy and not steep making access easy. Interior roads are paved, and turns are easy. Pull through concrete pad was good for our 38 footer. Cable channels were adequate. The reception was good. Wi-Fi did not work so we were unable to monitor home security, get travel information, make reservations, etc. We were in row 100. We were able to make an internet reservation from home. Website was informative. Train tracks are on far side of the river. Train is infrequent. We only heard the train about 8 p.m. We could not hear freeway traffic. It appears at least half of the park is dedicated to extended stay campers. This is a good location to visit San Jose, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Salinas, San Juan Bautista, etc. Pool looked nice, but it was kept covered. Our small dog enjoyed its stay. Office was very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.
Asphalt parking lot with utilities on curb island. Enough room for slide outs only. Some sites not level front to back. Entry road to the left before you pass the casino building. Lock on electric box so you must register inside casino.
No separation between sites so the neighbor's fire in their pit was very close to our vehicle. Pet friendly as their were doggie bag dispensers at the end of every lane. Great sunsets just over the dunes and a nice beach to walk. Park is close enough to walk to town which is "old beach town with walking pier." Excellent Wi-Fi. The Monarch butterflies return in winter so we too hope to return with the butterflies!
A definite 10. We enjoyed the pool and spa everyday. Bathroom/showers were very private as they were built like a "row of individual rooms each with their own enter/exit door to outside". Each bath had it's own heat/fan and was completely tiled and very very clean. We were able to buy tickets to area attraction for a considerable discount at the office. The shuttle to the casino was very much appreciated.
The golf course is beautiful. We're not sure if the grass in Ireland is that green. Go to the clubhouse for a special rate on golf and RV park. The RV park is not the worst. The roads are paved, but bring your leveling. It is Big Rig friendly. Self check-in is convenient anytime. The casino has good facilities, and the buffet is good. TV is available on antenna. There are no bathrooms or showers. Who cares, we're self contained. Good value.
