Rate reflects nightly cost on a monthly rate. Nice park with great owners. Wide open access from highway and easy maneuvering once in park. All pull throughs, very level & paved. Each site has residential trash bin. This park is completely separate from the MHP at rear of property. No bath house or recreation of any kind on site, however, their location is excellent. Across the street from the new Museum of the Confederacy, and this RV Park's property borders the Appomattox Courthouse National Park. Great stay and would definitely return again.
Great Passport America rate for what you get. PRO's: Easy access (even though they are 6 miles off interstate, most of that is 4-lane). Park is quiet, and has a well kept appearance. Pull through, 50 amp, with sewer. Level, gravel sites. CONS: Wi-Fi signal is strong but they only allow so many on system at one time. Once able to connect, kept getting booted off. Wouldn't be such an issue but this park has zero AT&T connectivity, and 1/2 bar reception on hubby's Verizon smartphone. Hard to wind down and enjoy a few hours after a day on the road with No Wi-Fi, no cell service, and no cable TV. But it was fine for one night and we'd stay again.
This park is now closed. We have stayed here in the past so we took our chances and showed up with no reservation. We found the electrical boxes and water faucets have been removed, and the sewer outlets filled in and covered. We called the armory office and they said management decided to close it because the electric needed upgrading and the park wasn't bringing in enough to justify the repairs.
This park has been here awhile so we were puzzled as to why it wasn't listed on RV Park Reviews. Upon check in, the sign at the entrance of the park states "now open to the public". One can assume it's been a private campground for some time, although the clerk said it was a KOA at some point. Very nice, shaded park. Long, easy entrance road with a surprisingly steep (but short) ending getting up to the registration area. Very clean store and registration area. No problems at check in, we were given a double site that you could pull through. Stick to the main roads of the park for best big-rig access (I made a wrong turn trying to pull into the site for best sewer access, and ended up having to back out for quite a way from a side road). Showers were tile floor and walls, separate changing area, bathroom cleanliness was good. Quiet park with many well kept (I would assume) seasonal. Overall this is a great find, and would return again.
Very nice park with excellent full hook up sites. Yes the sewer and water are in odd locations, but not a deal breaker. Stayed here 2 nights and suit our needs fine. The park hadn't officially opened yet so we had quite a time trying to pay someone. Finally on our last day we flagged down a park ranger and he opened the office so we could pay. Great stay, we will return.
Great PA rate at a great little park. Stayed in the lower section on the river. The sites are some of the longest we've ever seen. The pedestals are terrific. Can't believe there are sewer sites on the river, that was a big plus. They pickup your garbage here :) Office staff leaves a bit to be desired, but after registration didn't have to deal with them again. Overall a great value and we will return.
I just love when Coast to Coast and Passport members rate a park so critically all the while they're paying 1/2 price or less. Ain't right. Look folks, if you want primo, pristine facilities then look for - and be willing to PAY for - those type of RV parks. We are full timers who wanted a place to lay over several days for the Easter holiday to attend church. We paid the PA rate of $22 a night. We arrived with a great attitude and were treated like royalty. They allowed us to drive through and chose our level, back-in, shady site right by the interstate. And loved it. We were greeted by a couple of regular campers who couldn't have been nicer, helped us park, and gave us tips for a restaurant in the area. Cutty's has been a private camping club for 35 years. Is it showing it's age? Yep. But like this old woman, functions just fine ;) Would absolutely stay here again.
