I disagree with the previous reviewer about the permanent residents. No it's not perfectly organized but in general it just looked like people living life. New trees have been planted all along the sites which will continue to make it look nicer. I would definitely NOT let worries about the residents keep you away! We had site B2 in the front; our 36' 5th wheel was able to enter & exit easily. Maybe some of the sites would be difficult for rigs larger then ours, I don't know. Wi-Fi was super. Cable didn't seem to have all the channels they listed but reception was good. Too bad no ESPN! Some road noise at night but not too bad. And yes, the office staff (and the cookies!) are wonderful.
The site was wide and hookups well placed. We were told wi-fi reception varies widely throughout the park, but ours was perfect even though we were in the back. But it's rough around the edges -- junky mobile homes and cars along one side really detract. If it were cheaper than $35 I'd give it a higher rating. Really friendly, helpful owner, and the location is perfect for both the rainforest and beach sections of the national park. I would stay here again -- positives outweigh the negatives.
Very nice park. Great pull-through sites: wide, level, hookups well placed, level. Park is a bird sanctuary & very attractive. Wi-fi mostly worked well. I didn't give the park a 10 because it was the most expensive laundry I've encountered in 3+ years of full-time RVing -- $2.00 each load. But I would definitely return.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount. A great value for the money; but it's a bare-bones place. Sites are grass; we thought ours would be really un-level but it had a sweet spot. No AT&T phone reception; Wi-Fi worked OK but was really slow most of the time. If you like basic (we do) it's great. Very quiet and close to the national park. We stayed 3 nights and would stay here again if in the area.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount. What a lovely spot! Gorgeous setting on a clear, riffling mountain river; wide, pretty sites with grass and trees. I deducted a point from a 10 because it was hard to level and the Wi-Fi was very spotty. Good antenna TV reception. If you want beauty, peace and quiet, and don't need fancy amenities you will love this place. I will return.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount If you like simple and quiet, everything about this place is great. No fancy amenities but everything we needed worked perfectly. Wide, level pull-throughs with grass. Great Wi-Fi reception and clear cable TV. There's an attractive older section with lots of trees that would be great for smaller rigs; the large pull-throughs are newer & the trees are smaller. We would definitely return.
They seem to be the only game in town and it shows in the rate: way overpriced. It's a nice place to overnight: easy in/out, level sites, and hookups well placed and worked well. Very rustic. Most of the 19 sites appear to be permanent residents; the pull-through sites are in the front, very convenient. A little junky, but pretty surroundings and far enough from the highway that it's really quiet at night. At $20-25, this would have received a higher rating from me. Laundry room is not very clean but the machines (one of each) worked very well and are only $1.00 each. If it weren't for the price I would return, if we were in the area again.
Basic, no frills; just what we like when we're traveling through -- no paying for amenities we aren't going to use. Sites were level, hookups worked well. NOTE: 50 amp sites have no sewer hookup. But there is a dump station. Clean, quiet, very convenient to the Badlands. We would stay there again if we return.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This is a great place. Rustic, quiet, pretty, lots of trees. No bells & whistles, just a really nice campground. NOTE: for 50 amp you need to have a back-in site as the pull-throughs are only 30 amp; but the owner will guide you into your site & he made it really easy. Wi-Fi worked well. They have an air compressor for topping off your tires. Very friendly & helpful folks! We would definitely stay there again.
10+++! Probably the very best RV park we've stayed in, in 2-1/2 years of full-timing. We spent 3 nights here and wish it could have been longer. Beautiful, quiet area on Oak Creek; lots of mature trees; pretty landscaping. Large back-in sites, easy in-and-out; very level; hookups in a good place; concrete patio with picnic table and two plastic chairs. Good Wi-Fi. Nice people. Simple playground for kids, no pool or game room; families with kids might not like it as much as we did. It's large and safe enough for kids to bike around. We didn't use the group camping facilities but they have an attractive area with multiple tables and a big brick grill. We plan to return next month andwill definitely stay here!
This is a great park. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that the sites are a little close together and don't have picnic tables. We liked everything else! Long, level pull-throughs, really easy in-and-out. Quiet and convenient, lots of trees, very clean and neat. Friendly, helpful staff. They were here to trim a branch that touched our RV before we'd even started unhooking. Laundry a little expensive but has new machines that really work well. Wi-Fi is advertised as only in the lounge, but we were able to get a good signal at our site near the office. Families with kids who like a lot of entertainment might be disappointed; there's a nice pool but no fancy playground or game room. There are seasonals; their sites are very well kept. We would definitely return.
The rate reflects a Good Sam discount. This is a brand new RV section added onto an existing resort; everything is in top condition. Sites are wide, level, easy to get in/out of; hookups are intelligently placed. The landscaping is attractive; trees are small now but this will be a wonderfully shady park in a few years. The owners live on-site and are very friendly & helpful. The Wifi is strong. There is some road noise but it diminishes at night. We stayed for only one night on our way south, but this would be a great base for an extended stay to enjoy the area. We would definitely stay here again.
I could not disagree more with the previous review. My only reason for not giving this RV park a 10 is that you do have to re-log on to the wifi when you've been away, which is annoying. But our wifi worked just fine. We have a 36' fifth wheel and had no trouble parking, and our pull-through was absolutely level. Exit was also easy -- maybe some sites are less convenient? We had no complaints and so can't speak to how staff would respond to them; but they were very helpful and friendly when we asked for suggestions/directions, and were visible around the park. We didn't use the restrooms but the laundry was clean & worked well. If we're ever in Jackson again, this is where we'll stay!
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this park. The owners are on-site and are extremely friendly & helpful; be sure to ask them for suggestions of what to do! Our site was probably the most level we've ever had, & hookups were intelligently placed for easy use. Wide & spacious. Good Wi-Fi reception at site. Everything was spotlessly clean, in good condition, well cared for. Nice views. It's a small, simple park, no bells & whistles. Pool & game room to entertain the kids; well stocked store. We would definitely stay here again!
This is our kind of park! The setting is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, quiet; I loved that there aren't too many bright lights at night so we could have the window & blinds open for fresh air. Site not completely level but easy to fix. Friendly helpful people. We had no complaints about the interior roads. Some sites are really close together so if the park is full that could be a problem. About half the sites don't have sewer, I assume because they are close to the creek, but we had no trouble getting a full hookup site. We would definitely return.
The only reason I didn't give this park a 10 is that our hose had to run uphill to the sewer connection. Otherwise it's lovely! Near the interstate but very quiet; lots of trees, well shaped for RVs; roomy level site; friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
We liked this park. It's simple, no frills, but the people are friendly, it's quiet, there is lots of space, and there are views over the lake from some sites. We stayed in one of the new pull-through sites.
I would have rated this park a 10 except for their reservations policies. We were told we would have a pull-through, but when we arrived they said none were available. No apology, no real concern shown. The site they gave us was much narrower than many others we could see empty. The couple next to us also had been promised a specific kind of site and not gotten it till they had asked daily at the office for several days. So this is apparently a common problem! Otherwise, aside from the unavoidable freeway noise, (this is urban DC after all) it is a perfect place from which to see DC, and it has lots of family-friendly amenities.
The sites in this park are extremely close together. We were here off-season and it was fine, but I think it would be a zoo during the summer. Mostly seasonals but neat and well kept. Rate reflects Good Sam discount.
The rate is for 50 amp without the Good Sam discount. This is a perfect overnight park! Long, level pull-through sites, wide access roads, easy in & out. Friendly staff. Not a "destination" park with lots to do, but a good base for exploring the area. Relaxing, quiet atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again!
This is an absolutely perfect overnight park! It's not a "destination" park with lots of activities; you wouldn't want to hang around the park for weeks on end. But it would also be a great base for vacationing in the surrounding area, if you want a spacious, well-kept place to return to each evening. Sites are super-long, level, not crowded. The bathroom is one of the cleanest and most attractively decorated I've been in. Friendly staff. It is close to the freeway (very easy in and out) so there is some noise; but a hill in between mutes a lot of it. We were able to sleep with the windows open. We would definitely return!
A beautiful park; almost like staying in a national forest. Large, level site, lots of trees, very quiet. Friendly staff; when we asked, they put us in the best site for satellite reception (which was successful). The reasons I did not give them at 10: Roads are narrow and the turns are really tight (we were OK but had to be really careful). Most sites can't get satellite reception (but it's a tradeoff for the trees and privacy, which were wonderful). No WiFi at our site, though they do have it in the office. We would definitely stay here again!
This park has been significantly upgraded since the previous review. They now have 50 amp in most sites, have several pull-throughs with concrete pads (& are building more), and have really great Wi-fi. No sewer but they have a dump station. The reason I did not give it an even higher rating is that they have done a really poor job configuring their new electric posts and pull-throughs: the electric and water hookups are on the wrong side of the RV, and are quite far back from the concrete pad (or from the center of the site on the gravel ones). We were able to run our electric cord around the back or our RV and reach the hookup, but needed two hoses to reach the water. It's too bad, since this is obviously new work, that they planned so poorly. But we are still glad we are here: it's beautiful, peaceful, the hosts are really friendly. We would definitely stay here again. I do think really long RVs might have a problem fitting into the sites. We are 35' and the pull-through is really too short and too rounded. We didn't unhook from our truck because we had to come in at such a sharp angle that we couldn't straighten out enough. The back-ins would probably be easier, but I think they may be too short for anything longer than us.
A wonderful park! Beautiful setting on the water, clean, spacious. easy to park, great concrete sites, really level. It appears to be mostly long-time seasonal residents but people were very friendly to us during our 5-day stay; the seasonal sites were very neat & well-kept. The highway is extremely busy but most sites are well away from it & we thought it was very quiet. We hope to stay there again on our way north.
It would be nice if there were trees; but at this time of the year it didn't matter. This is a brand new park (open 7 months); all the roads and sites are concrete, very level, spacious. There is a small pond for fishing. Everything is immaculate. The road is a little noisy but we could have our windows open & not be bothered. A great place for a night or two on the road; we would stay here again if we're in the area.
We stayed for a month so the rate I listed is the prorated monthly rate (includes bill for electricity). The only reason I did not give this park a 10 is that the highway is quite busy & noisy; you wouldn't want to be in one of the front spots. But sites in the trees (which are back-ins) and the pull-through sites towards the back are quiet. Otherwise this park is wonderful. Large sites, lots of open green space; we didn't use the bathrooms but the laundry is spotlessly clean & the machines are new & work very well. The owner manages the park & is there daily; he & his 3 staff people are some of the friendliest we've ever met. While we were there they held a movie night & a campfire/cookout so guests could meet each other & mingle. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.
I gave this campground a 3 instead of a lower number only because it is a really pretty setting, and smaller RV's/campers might have a better experience. It is on the shore of Devil's Lake, and the lake has been rising for several years. An entire row of campsites is under water & no longer in use, but no mention of this was made when the office staff gave us a map to get to our site (no escort). This caused us to take the wrong road, as we thought we were one road farther from the water than we were; it was a service road & we sustained major damage to our roof from trees. When I reported this to the office, they were "sorry" but offered nothing else; I suggested they change their maps but just got a shrug. The interior roads are dirt, rutted & bumpy, & have low-hanging trees; no one with a larger rig should try to navigate them! There are new sites farther from shore but they appear to be only for seasonal residents. We left after only one night, when we had planned to stay for three.
This park is in the middle of town; sites in the front would be very noisy but we were in the back (ask for the west side) and it was very quiet. Nice sites, lots of trees. Staff were friendly and helpful; we were escorted to our site & given help with backing in. Nothing stands out in particular, but we had a wonderfully relaxing, stress-free stay there; so much so that we extended our stay an extra day.
Very polished, professional park. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful: when we had cable TV trouble, they sent a maintenance man immediately. Everything was immaculate. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is that the internet connection went in and out regularly during our stay, which was frustrating. There was highway noise, but not excessive.
