Stayed here as a stopover on my way north from winter in FL. After staying in some beautiful state parks in FL, I was disappointed in many things, but pleased by others. My campsite was right next to Hwy 204, and it was noisy all night long. The interior roads have these massive speed bumps, who knows what for as the roads are so twisty and rutted you can't go fast anyway. My site was unlevel. The sites are small and short, my Class C took up almost the whole width! On the good side, the laundry room was amazing, lots of newer washing machines and dryers all in working condition, with an iron! There is a fenced bark park which is always a treat for me and my dog. The walk to the river is pleasant and there is a nice floating dock for fishing. I would stay here again, using it for a stopover off I-95, not for vacation. My rate was with a Good Sam discount.

I stay here on my annual Snowbird get out of NJ winter trip. I stay here for several reasons. 1) I love the location. It's 3 blocks to the beach in 2 different directions: one more river oriented, one ocean oriented. 2) I love to spend time walking around Savannah and eating at the wonderful restaurants. The interior roadways are paved or hard gravel. I chose a smallish back-in site for my 21' motorhome because I like the location and partial sun and partial shade. Most of the sites are pull-throughs, but there are several awkward back-ins that are wonderful places. The people are very nice and helpful, and the campers are great, too. There are several full timers or seasonals in the winter, but mostly this is a transient stop over place on the way south/north in the winter. Good internet signal, great cable TV. Don't miss nearby Fort Pulaski!

I needed a campground on the southern side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel on my way back home to NJ after 6 weeks on the road in the southeast. My Trailer Life directory showed this campground as open all year. I called to verify they were open and availability. What a gem this campground is. Three lakes with a beautiful very clean beach and what appears to be full timers or seasonals nicely spaced around them. The transient sites are up high and overlook the lake. I had a lovely site with just what I asked for: a lake view close to the bathhouse. The interior roadways were paved or hard gravel. My campsite (a large pullthrough) was level hard gravel. Sewer, electric and water with a heater wrapped around the faucet! The office personnel couldn't have been nicer, and asked if I was Good Sam or Triple A for a discount. The bath house was sparkling! There appears to be a large area for groups or rallies. There is a covered pavilion and rec hall, closed for the season, but seemed to have refrigerator, microwave, etc. I have seen other reviews of this campground regarding the US Route 13 Bypass built right behind, and taking over 100 sites from them. What a shame. There is one of those long and tall cement paneled privacy fences right behind the bathhouse I used. You should not be concerned about highway noise, it is off in the distance and almost out of hearing. I wish this neat campground was closer to home, as I surely would bring a group here. Gas, Wal-Mart, grocery stores are all nearby.
