We camped here on Easter Weekend and there were several activities for the kids and adults alike. The campground had several guests, but there was no problem with noise. The playground is adequate for the kids. We didn't get to use the water facilities as it was too early in the season, but they looked like fun. The staff was very nice. You need to be buzzed into the gate and when the "Ranger Station" is busy, you may have to wait awhile. The sites were clean, but they are all dirt as are the roads. Very dusty. The store has some basic supplies, but anything other than that you have to travel at least 7 miles to the nearest department store. The usual golf carts are buzzing around, but it didn't seem to be an issue. What was an issue were the regular vehicles that didn't seem to care that several people were walking around as they drove way too fast. The bathrooms were clean and we didn't see any shower rooms to comment on. We would return here to experience the summer activities.
Wow! This campground is now one of our top 3 favorites. I can't say enough about this place. The store has everything you need. The sites are clean and level. There are many planned activities for the kiddies and families. We were there in the late fall and the indoor pool was great. Can't wait to visit in the summer. The campground is close to all things Amish if that is what you like. We will definitely be back. The campground is beautiful! One thing to mention is if you plot the address into GPS you may find yourself climbing a huge hill that you may or may not be able to manage..please plan your route accordingly.
I wanted to title this review "You lost me a hello". What I mean by that is we were underwhelmed by the customer service at the site, this is one of the only complaints I have about this campground. For a campground with a western theme I want my guest services to say "Howdy!" Also, for the price you pay for the place, the mini-golf and western show should be free. The use of golf carts is immense and they drive at ridiculous speeds without any enforcement..WATCH YOUR YOUNG KIDS! These are the only complaints I have about the resort. The campground is clean as are the bathrooms and showers, which are everywhere. The camp store has anything you need. There is a boat launch and a very nice swimming pool. There are planned activities. The water park is included in your price and is a lot of fun. There are several trashcans around the property. The view of the bay is beautiful. There is one dump station that I could find. The only reason that I won't stay here again is because of the price and the fact that not everything that the resort has is included, you even have to pay for the air for your tires. Nice place to visit but I don't need to go back.
This was our first "primitive" campground with our trailer. There are no hookups of any kind. The campground is very clean as are the bathrooms and showers. There are custodians that clean the bathrooms at least twice a day and clean up the campsites immediately after a camper leaves. The showers are private and there are 6-7 of them per loop. The dump station is spacious and there are plenty of dumpsters for your trash. Depending on your loop the beach of Lake George is a short walk. The beach is very nice with a small swimming area roped off and a lifeguard that is very attentive. The supply truck with firewood and ice and some other things comes by a couple of times a day and is reasonably priced. There are some very steep hills so keep an eye on the kiddies because there is the potential for some severe accidents if they try and ride their bikes, scooters, wagons down them. We had a trip to the emergency room from a runaway wagon versus tree. The town of Ticonderoga is a short drive and has whatever you need or forgot. A sensible investment is a small gas powered generator to keep your battery charged. There is absolutely no cell phone service so keep that in mind. The roads are tight but take your time and you'll be fine. We will be back. One suggestion for the campground is to put in a playground in the future.
We found this park on this website and we are glad we did. This county park is clean, accessible and is a great value for your dollar. There are water hook-ups and electric hook-ups. All the sites are pull through and there is plenty of room to maneuver. Some other reviews may state that the roads are narrow with low clearance. We disagree with the low clearance but even thought the roads are just wide enough, so long as a driver takes their time, there shouldn't be any problem. We choose a site that backed-up to the playground and we were still far enough away from any noise. The showers and bathrooms were very accommodating. The lake is fun with rowboat, kayak and paddle boat rentals but it is cash only. Remember to bring a long water hose, 50' or more, as the electric and water hook-ups are opposite from one another. When entering the dump station, remember to enter it squarely as it is kind of tight. One thing worth mentioning is; there was a fire ban put in place prior to our arrival and the rangers were kind enough to call us to see if we still wanted to camp. We camped in a travel trailer and will be back!
This is the second time we've stayed here. This is a very nice campground with a suitable playground and a nice looking pool. There's a fully stocked store and the sites are maintained nicely. The bathrooms were clean and accommodating. There is free Wi-Fi but the signal strength is non-existent. The park is pet-friendly, but there are so many dogs that the barking is nearly constant first thing in the morning until quiet time. We are dog people, but it got to be a little ridiculous. There was a nice fathers day breakfast on Sunday and we would stay here again due to the proximity to various places.
This was the 2nd time we stayed here and we were not disappointed by the amenities and cleanliness of the park. This campground is very family friendly and there are many shaded spots or spots in the sun if that is what you are looking for. The general store is fairly well stocked and there are some planned activities for the kids. The real gem is the pool area which consists of a play pool and a regular pool. Both offer plenty of room for the guests of the park and the swim club. There is also a lake to swim in with slides and ropes for the older kids. We will definitely be back. Free Wi-Fi.
