This review is for Turkey Flat campground only. The pads are grass, all RV sites were in the middle with very little shade. No fire rings, grills were full of debris. A little run down and in need of maintenance. I did not visit the restrooms so I don't have an opinion. It was a nice quiet camp but would be quite busy on a summer weekend. Good place to stop for a night, not for an extended period. I would stay here again.
Cottonwood campground, on the San Juan river, NOT the main campground at the lake. There was trash and litter scattered all about, grass (weeds) needed trimmed or mowed. 10 pm quiet time was not enforced. Host was not friendly, quite rude during an emergency when power was lost and unable to power breathing machine. I will not return and do not recommend this campground.
I used Golden age pass, otherwise electric sites are $20.00, beautiful shaded campsites, well maintained and organized. There was a lot of trash scattered about near the sites, trails and lake. Only complaint is a neighboring campsite had 3 small dogs that barked constantly, even into the night. The host was next site over, but did nothing. About 10:40pmI did ask the neighbor to quiet the dogs which they did. I felt the host should handle those situations.
It is a COE lake and campground which is well maintained and clean. Many campsites are near the water. The grass was well trimmed, and lake access was fair. The Host was helpful, friendly and courteous. I look forward to my next visit.
