This park sits on the shores of Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. It's not fussy but is quiet and clean. The area is somewhat remote, about 7 miles from the town of Manistique. Although there are no sewer hookups, the dump station is readily available behind the motel that is also on the grounds. We had no trouble with the 30 amp electric and the water quality was good. This was our second stay and will continue to be a spot to stay at while in northern Michigan.
This was a lovely campground located right in town. It was neat, clean and the sites were well groomed and paved. The camp hosts were very friendly. We would like to see more 50amp sites as there was only one available but we plan to come back again and spend a full week. WiFi would be a nice upgrade. We would highly recommend this campground.
We couldn't have been more disappointed with this KOA campground. When we checked in, we found they had assigned us a 37' pull-through site for our 38' motorhome towing a car. They appeared dumbfounded at my question as to what we were to do without the extra footage available. A young woman stepped forward and did manage to find us a longer site, but we barely fit. The site was extremely narrow with dead bushes and tree limbs that really needed pruning. Their web site said that they won an award in 2008, but we don't know what the criteria was to qualify. We will never stay there again or recommend it.
This was an overnighter while on the road, and we found the owner helpful and friendly. We were escorted to our site which had water and 50amp service with no sewer hook-up available for our big rig motorhome at that site. Although it wasn't the typical 'pull through,' we drove around on the grass and pulled forward, facing the exit road. This campground has a country feel and was quiet and clean. It was very relaxing and we would stop there again if we had the chance.
