Rancheria RV Park campground is surrounded by trees. A very scenic campground but somewhat isolated. Because of its location there is no cell phone reception and the two pay phone booths onsite do not accept coin for making long distance calls. Little restaurant onsite serves very good food and the dessert pies are homemade. WiFi is free for two hours a day and very, very slow.
The staff was unfriendly and the sites are very small. Due to the small site we were really concerned about our RV flipping over when we leave as the tires were on the ledge of the slope. We made it with no room to spare. It was a very, very close call. Bathroom facilities were not clean and toilet seats were loose. This KOA is not at the quality level we've come to expect of a KOA campground. The rate is higher than other KOAs and the level is much, much lower than other KOAs. This campground does not warrant a repeat visit nor a first visit. Stay away if you can.
Although the campground offers quite a bit of amenities, I feel the nightly rate is on the high side. All sites are leveled and cemented. WiFi is available but slow. There are no trees to provide shade and the AC had difficulty keeping the temperature down in the rig during the hot afternoon sun. If you enjoy wine, this is the place to be. You can also get some great fresh produce and fruits during the Farmers Market season.
This KOA campground far exceeded our expectation of what a KOA campground should be. The facility is old but very clean and everything is kept in excellent condition. Staff is very friendly and will do whatever they can to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. We enjoyed the campground and the staff so much that we extended our stay by an additional day. We will plan our future trips to try to stay at this campground if at all possible.
