The park was much more full than we were expecting for where it is located. There were what appeared to be quite a few long term guests, but it was clean and quiet. Since it is a new park, the trees were small and there was no privacy, but the sites are large and there is grass between them. We just needed a place to stay for the night, and it was perfect for that. We would stay here again if we are in the area.
This is our 5th time at Challis Hot Springs, so of course we love it here. The pools are as fabulous as ever, and they have been upgraded with new stainless steel railings for added safety and access. The WiFi is stronger and can now be used at some of the RV sites. It was not quite strong enough to use at our favorite site # 21, but we were able to sit in the office to use it. Try to get a site along the river if possible. The camp has been in the same family for four generations, and everyone here was extremely helpful and friendly. We recommend that EVERYONE spend at least one night here!
We stayed here 5 years ago when it first opened, and liked it enough to come back. It is still a very clean park, with a nice clubhouse. We did not use the pool, but the WiFi worked well. It is centrally located to restaurants and stores. We would stay here again. The trees are a little bit bigger, but still not big enough to provide any shade.
The park was very clean and well kept. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is well situated for to Temple Square as well as Hill Airforce Base Museum and Antelope Island. It was an hour away from Park City. UT. We did not use the pool, but the WiFi worked great and the TV channel selection was great.
This park is very clean. There appear to be a lot of permanent residents but all the sites are well kept. They say they do not allow older rigs here. There are not a lot of trees, and while the sites are very large and easily will hold any size rig, there is not much privacy. The setting is really nice with the river next to the park and it is close to shopping and anything else you would need. We would stay here again when we are in the area.
This was a really nice park and the people working there were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were very clean and look like they were recently painted. We had had a rough day getting there and when I mentioned that and asked for a more private site, they gave us one along the side in the very back which was perfect for us even though that was not the one they originally reserved for us. We would definitely stay there again.
We do not usually stay at KOA's since we do not use most of the services. This is more than we normally spend for a park but we stayed here as the lavender festival was in town and we could not find another park. If you have children that like to run around and play games then this is the park for you. If you want a quiet less crowded park, then this is not it. The bathrooms were kind of small and it was difficult to get into them due to the number of people there. The space we had was big enough for our 34' and the tow behind, was grass and level.
We stayed here 3 nights because our daughter wanted to come to Forks due to "Twilight." The park is very nice and the owners were very helpful. They even gave our daughter a Twilight post card and map of everything "Twilight" in town. We stayed in a back in space about 1/2 way through the park. The sites were very large and the WiFi was strong. There is a wonderful store directly across the street that will have anything you would need. The park is in town and walking distance to all the "Twilight ust see" places. Also not far from the beaches of Olympic National Park and the rain forest. We would definitely stay here again.
Park was very quiet considering the location right off the new 395 freeway section. Check in is now done through the hotel in the casino, but was very smooth and they let us pick our own site. Bathrooms were very clean. Good central location for seeing Carson, Reno and Virginia City. There is a bowling alley in the casino. All sites have a table and small grass patch. We stayed here in a 34 footer and the back-in site was large enough for us. The sites have trees which are a fair size for some shade. We would stay here again.
We really liked this park. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. The hot pools were fabulous and very clean. The camp sites were a good size. There were limited cable channels, and internet was through a 3rd party for $4.95, but worked well. We will definitely stay here again.
We pass through Bakersfield fairly often, but this was the first time we stayed at Orange Grove. We will definitely stay here from now on. We came in late Christmas eve and they had our site and paperwork ready for us. The ladies working Christmas morning were very helpful and friendly. The sites and roads are all wide and easy to get into. The site was long enough for our 34 Ft class A and the tow behind so we did not have to unhook. There are orange trees between every site and we were allowed to pick the oranges. They were fabulous! The free WI-FI and TV worked great and the bathrooms were some of the nicest we have ever seen. Everything was clean. They have a nice looking swimming pool and an exercise room, but we did not use those.
We really loved this campground. The campsites were spacious and grassy with lots of trees. We were here with our 13 year old and there was lots to do. It was a perfect location to see all the different sites in the area. The owners are very friendly and everyone there was extremely helpful. They even let me feed the baby goats and lambs! We would definitely stay there again the next time we were in the area!
This was the second year in a row we stayed here. It was as wonderful as the last time. We were with our 13 year old daughter. It was very peaceful and quiet. We are going to try to spend a week there next year and brings friends! It would be a great place for a family reunion.
We stayed here for a week at a time for the last two years,(Dec. 2006 and 2007)with our 12 year old daughter. The pool is definitely the best part. It was so warm and clean. We swam every night. The people were helpful and friendly. We were there mostly looking for a warm place to stay during Christmas vacation. The bathrooms are very clean. It is windy and we were not on the cliff edge. There was an Internet ready computer available for use in the club house. The only thing I wish they had provided was an outside table. We would definitely stay there again.
We stayed here for 3 nights with our 12 year old daughter. We stayed one night on our way to MT and then again for 2 nights on our way back. We loved it. The swimming pool and hot pool were absolutely fabulous! The people were really nice and we were even given a tour of the old bed and breakfast building by the 4th generation owner of the park. It was so quiet and peaceful and our camp site was right on the Salmon River. There were a lot of bugs, but that is what you would expect near a river in July. The roof over the hot pool was falling apart, but we were told they were planning on fixing it this year. If you like old buildings, and quaint surroundings this is a great place. If you are looking for fancy bathrooms and RV sites, then it is not for you. We would definitely stay there again, and would even consider making it a destination site as there is a lot to do in the area if you like the outdoors, American history and ghost towns.
This campground is only 20 miles from our house and we stayed for two nights. We just bought our motor home and wanted to try it out. We really liked this campground. The people were extra nice and helpful and the grounds were clean and comfortable. My 12 year old and I played pool and used the swimming pool. She was able to walk around by herself and feel safe. The deli had great ice cream. We would definitely stay there again. (800) 339-6981
