Magical. This is the best word I can think of to describe this campground. Surrounded by water, the Susquehanna River in the front, Otter Creek on one side, Sawmill Creek on the other. The hiking is incredible, The Mason Dixon trail goes right through the campground. Otter Creek sports 3 small beautiful waterfalls, which you can see by hiking the nature trail. Urey Point (up the road with a nice parking area) offers an incredible view of the Susquehanna River and dam. There is a nice one mile hiking trail here for the person who doesn't want a long hike. The sites are huge and rustic. Exactly what we prefer. Trees and wildlife abound. A bear even visited the camp while we were there! Bird watching is at it's best, we enjoyed the bright red cardinals frolicking and playing amongst the majestic trees. The campers are friendly and happy. We made many lifetime friends in the 2 months we stayed here. The washers are large and the dryers rock! No damp clothes here! Bring your canoe, the river is as smooth as glass in the evenings. Pull up to an island and watch the deer, crane and many other species of birds of prey. Right down the street is an Amish farm for all your fresh veges, fruits, canned goods, baked goods and cheeses. This is the perfect destination to camp and check out the Susquehanna River cities (Wrightsville, where the covered bridge over the Susquehanna River was burned down during the Civil War) Gettysburg, Harrisburg, York, Hershey's Chocolate Factory and Lancaster County with all it's fabulous Amish towns and doings. PA-124 is a perfect Harley riding road! Curvy and smooth, no stop lights and lots of whoop-de-doos! As for the camp directors I can't thank them enough! They go out of their way and take the time to get to know you and make sure you are comfortable. I wish every campground we stayed at had such personable hosts! Love you guys! In 8 years of traveling with my husband for his work this is by far my favorite campground! Sure hope we get another job out this way, Pennsylvania is wonderful and so friendly! P.S. We are from the mountains of Montana, this camp rates right up there...which is hard to do given that we have the best in Montana. Kudos to the camp directors.

Beautiful large Campground! Nice friendly staff. Family and dog friendly. Huge spaces. We stayed here for my grandson's baseball tournament. It was great time. Kids loved it! Be sure and bring bikes and helmets. They have rentals but are quite expensive. We camped in a 5th wheel and our kids in tents. Would definitely come back!

What a nice change to be treated as a honored guest! Jerry is the best RV manager we have ever ran into. Pleasant, respectful, funny, considerate, I could go on and on. Wish we could take him with us to every RV park we encounter! He could give classes on how to operate and manage an RV park! The park is clean with large spots. Each space has grass. Plenty with trees. The laundry room is clean with plenty of washers and dryers. The dryers kick butt! Dry in 25 minutes! We have 2 large labs and were welcomed with no "big dog" prejudice. People who live here full time are nice and congenial. We went out of town for the weekend in the RV, leaving our car. The alarm on the car went haywire and started going off. Jerry called and was very nice about it. We hurried back. Another park would've had the car towed! This park is a gem. It has rules but not the Hitler type regime you find at other parks. A bonus is the Lewis and Clark state park across the river (about a .25 mile drive or walk) has a wonderful off leash dog exercise area. Sandy Riverfront RV park offers everything. Beautiful views, friendly manager and people, dog friendly. There is plenty of places to swim on the river. Glenn Otto Park across the road does not allow dogs but is a wonderful family park with a nice beach for swimming. Across from Lewis and Clark park is a large beach area that does allow dogs. Don't leave here without eating at Tad's Chicken and Dumplings, about .25 miles going South on the Sandy River, or visiting McMenamins Edgefield. Best food, atmosphere and views around between these 2 places. Thanks Jerry for making our stay memorable.
