We arrive after dark (10pm) and finding where to go was a challenge as they have no driveway lighting. Entered on the wrong side of the building but were able to still get into the park. The roads and sites are gravel and are in very bad shape. They are washed out in places creating large trenches that we had to drive over. Our site was very unlevel and so we slept in a crooked trailer. When we left, once again we had to cross over a washed out area. If it had not been so late and we were just there to get a few hours of sleep, we would have left. There map had a big sticker placed on it telling us what they did not have: no 50 amp, no cable, no Wi-Fi. There has to be a more convenient and better maintained place in the area.
This was our first time camping at a casino park, and we were very impressed. The sites are very large and well laid out for easy navigation into the sites. All sites have concrete pads to park your trailer on and have a concrete patio with a picnic table. There is lots of grass although it was brown and crunchy due to the extreme heat. The staff was friendly, the pool was warm and we will definitely return.
This resort is small with 60 sites. It is primarily a seasonal resort but they do rent by the week and the month. The resort sits on Barton Lake and each site has it's own pier. The sites are very large and are full hookup. Lots of grass and each site has a concrete pad. The resort has a very nice pool, basketball court and a playground. It sits right next door to the Jellystone Park which has water slides, mini-golf, etc that you can use by paying a daily usage fee. This resort was spotless, well maintained and quiet not to mention the seasonals are well maintained and very friendly to us during our stay. We would definitely recommend this resort if you are planning a week trip to northeast Indiana.
We stopped here on our way to Orlando for Spring Break. It is easy to get to as it is right off I-75. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. We were escorted to our site. We had a large pull through with full hookups. The site did not have grass but was fine for us since we were only there for the night. The restrooms were very clean and the park was well maintained. The fishing pond has a nice fountain that was lit at night creating a nice view from our camper. We were told there was complimentary coffee at the store in the morning however we did not go up to the store to get it. We would definitely stay here again on trips south. The rate we had was discounted with our KOA card.
This is a small park that was very quite. The owners are a very nice young couple that provide outstanding service including delivery of firewood to your site. There is a walking trail around the lake and a disc golf course. The showerhouse is modern and very clean. If you are looking for a quiet site on or near a small fishing lake, this place is perfect. We will definitely return again.
Our site was very muddy with no gravel or grass around the concrete patio. We had to buy a "Y" in order to get water even though our site was a water/electrical site. There was no cable or WIFI available. Getting to your site is a nightmare due to adults and kids walking, riding bikes, etc down the middle of the streets. The showerhouse near our loop only had one shower for men and one for women. The water was luke warm at best both times we used them. There are lots of seasonals and some are beginning to look run down. Overall, we were very disappointed with this park and the prices charged.
This is a nice little park with a very friendly staff. The bathrooms and showers are modern and clean. They provide treats for your dog on arrival. They have a coffee/hot chocolate machine in the store and they give you your first one free. On the weekends, they offer a pancake breakfast for $3 which was very good. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to others.
The sites were very large. There are asphalt pads to park your camper and vehicle on. The grass is well maintained and each site has a firepit and picnic table. There is very little shade on most sites. There were only two showers in our shower house and we had to wait both days to shower. The park ranger we encountered was very rude and unhelpful. The staff at the store however was very friendly and helpful.
This is our new favorite KOA park. It is very well maintained and there is lots to do. They have 2 pools, shuffleboard, volleyball, etc. There is a small amusement park attached that has mini golf, go carts, batting cages, etc. I would highly recommend this campground. Our site was gravel for the trailer and had a small concrete pad with the picnic table along with full hookups. The cable worked well. We will definitely be back again to this one.
This is an outstanding little park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites along the stream are very peaceful. The lots have plenty of gravel so when it rained be were not tromping through mud. The showerhouse was always clean and very modern. The pool is very nice and there is also a 9 hole miniature golf course which is well maintained. This is now our favorite campground.
We chose this park based on reviews, their location and rates. Although the park itself is fine, I wanted to point out a couple of things that I had not seen on prior posts. There are no firepits at campsites. We were told by the staff that we could have a fire if we had our own firepit. Unfortunately we don't carry one with us and were not told this prior to our arrival. To us, a fire is a major part of our camping experience. Second, the bathhouses were clean but they are dated and not nearly as nice as some of the newer bathhouses we have had at other KOA's. Third, we found the staff to be adequate at best. They didn't seem to want to go the extra mile even on simple requests like where is a good place to eat. Finally, our site (w/e backin) was sandy and when it rained it became very messy. Some sites in the full hookup section had stone.
Great park. The restrooms and showers were very clean. Only problem was the mens shower had a public changing area with private showers. There were no hooks in the showers to hang items from. The park itself is beautiful with lots of great hiking from easy to rugged. The sites had stone to park your trailer on. We would definitely return and recommend to others.
This is a very nice park. They have three waterslides, minigolf, two pools of which one is indoor, pedal carts, paddle boats and lots of daily activities. I would guess about half of the spots are seasonal. My only real complaint this trip was our site only had one 30 amp hookup that it shared with another site. I was told this was the only site that shared and they are to be rented together. Unfortunately, we had to run our refrig on propane all weekend as the 20 amp we got did not operate it. Also, this is a very busy park with lots of kids as you would expect at at Jellystone so just be aware of it ahead of time. Overall, a great park.
This was a great park. The campground staff is awesome. They went out of their way to make our stay special. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. There were lots of activities and we found the campground to be very quiet. We will definitely return.
