The office staff was very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms were nice and clean. However, our site was one of the least level sites we have encountered in our two years of full-time RVing. It took 4" of wood on the curb side to make it level side to side and our back steps were 18" off the ground due to the slope of the site. Overall though, the campground was nice for an overnight stop and the Wi-Fi was awesome! We would stay here again.
We camped here overnight on our way south from Maine, having stayed here back in April on our way north to Maine. Just like earlier in the year, we found this campground to be very nice, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Rate reflects Passport America.
Rate reflects Value Kard discount. This is a fairly nice KOA: a corporate park. The staff was friendly and helpful, but didn't offer information unless asked. Our site was mostly level, the bathrooms were basically clean, the grounds were for the most part clean. Hmmm, I see a pattern here. It felt like just enough was done to be OK, but there was no need to be GREAT. I don't understand why KOA pushes their franchisees to follow the KOA G.R.E.A.T. standards, but fail to live up to those same standards in their corporate parks. Just to be clear, this park was fine, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. However, it was nothing to write home about.
We camped here overnight on our way north to Maine. We found this campground to be very nice, and the office staff women were especially friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Rate reflects Passport America.
We stayed here for 3 months actually, January through March. There are several long term campers here, mostly working in the area on different temporary assignments. However, this is a very beautiful and quiet campground. The owners are super nice and accommodating. There are several improvement projects going on and this park should see some nice things happening in the future. The lake is beautiful and is home to several ducks and a couple of geese. They allow fishing on the lake for catfish, brim, carp and bass. However the bass is catch and release. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here one night on the way from Mississippi to Maine. Very friendly owners, nice park, easy pull-through site, substantially level. Extremely pet friendly: even had a pet wash basin with warm water and shampoo provided. Would definitely stay here again. Rate quoted is Passport America, W/E.
This is a very well maintained city park. We were pleasantly surprised! Any privately owned or KOA campground of this caliber would cost at least twice the nightly rate. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Restrooms were clean and warm, and the laundry facilities worked well and were priced right ($1.50/wash and $1.00/dry). Our pull-through site was a nice size and completely level. The park is conveniently close to stores like Wal-Mart, Krogers, etc. We would definitely stay here again.
This is one of the better KOA campgrounds we have stayed at through the years. Of course all the facilities are brand new, since they were under 6' of water back in May 2010. The bathrooms were spotless and warm. The pool and hot tub LOOK nice, although since we had a white Christmas, obviously we didn't use them! The cable TV was good and the Tengo Internet was the best service from Tengo we have ever had. As another reviewer noted, our Verizon MiFi card was too slow to use, but the cell service was just fine. At any rate, we had no complaints about this KOA, except for the fact that the price was seemed quite expensive. Had this been during the summer when we could use all the facilities such as the pool, etc. perhaps this wouldn't have been an issue. But for the winter it was too much.
We stayed at this campground from the last week of October through Dec 23rd while working at Amazon. This is a brand new campground, and what the owners accomplished in just 6 mths was phenomenal. As another review stated, at this point it is all gravel ... one might say "a gravel parking lot", but a very pleasant parking lot it was! The owners were very friendly and accommodating ... very willing to try to solve what few problems there were. As full time employees of Amazon for several weeks, we were allowed to receive our mail at the campground. The owners sorted the mail and put site numbers on a white board on the outside of the office door to let the campers know they had mail. This was above and beyond service in our opinion. Our site was completely level, which in our fulltime RVing experience in unusual. There is a plan to put in a pool and dog playground at some point which would be awesome. Once they deal with some grading issues that caused some severe puddling during heavy rainfall, there won't be much to complain about. Although certainly not a destination park (unless working at Amazon!) this campground is a great place to stay if one needs to be in Campbellsville.
This is an awesome park and we highly recommend it. This was our first stay, but anytime we are in this area, I guarantee we will be back. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the sites were plenty large for our 37' fifth wheel, and the park was comfortably set out. Since we were here in October, there were lots of attractive decorations for Halloween. There were quite a few long-term sites, but they were all clean, and many were decorated as well. The restrooms were spotless, the washing machines and dryers were above average quality and the price for the laundry was reasonable. Although this park might not stack up to the snobby "Class-A only" parks, in our opinion, it is a 5-star campground.
We agree with the last few reviews, but don't feel this park rates a 7. It is an OK park with friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful lake. Those are the positives, and as such, are great. However, the price is quite steep for what is available. The Wi-Fi was extremely weak to the point of being unusable. The park sits down below the freeway, and where our unit was parked, every time a big rig drove past, it interrupted the over-the-air TV. In addition, we were completely unable to get our satellite TV up and working due to the trees. We were situated by the lake with a gorgeous view from our front door. I imagine if we were in one of the pull-through sites in the front gravel area, we might have been able to use it. With the beautiful view, you may wonder why TV was important. Just four words ... baseball post-season playoffs! This is a fine overnight stay, but certainly not a campground for an extended stay.
What a gem! We would never have known about this park were it not for rvparkreviews.com! Thank you! This is a quiet, beautiful, immaculate campground with excellent management. We only stayed a week because of a reservations at a rally in Indiana, but would have loved to extend our stay. It is amazing that this is a city owned park and yet has FHU and is nicer than many private campgrounds. We would most definitely stay here again, and highly recommend others check it out!
This is a very nice, quiet campground; very clean and well kept. Bathrooms and laundry room were spotless. Washing machines and dryers are all front loading, quality machines. That said, it was quite expensive to use. Lake was "catch and release" only, but provided a beautiful view. Management was friendly and helpful. Sites are all gravel - no grass. We would definitely stay here again. Rate reflects weekly rate.
This is one of the better KOA parks we have been to. Although most KOA's are comfortable and clean, this one goes above and beyond. We were in one of the “view” site and wow, what a view. Calling it a “view site” doesn’t do it justice. The sites overlook the entire Las Cruces area with incredible sunrise photo opportunities available. At night, the lights from the city and I-10 twinkle and create quite a lovely scene. The sites were roomy and the staff was very friendly. The Internet was free but it was Tengo … definitely not my favorite, but certainly better than nothing. My only complaint was the cost of the laundry … much higher than any other we have come across in our 3 months of traveling. That said, we would highly recommend this park and will stay here again.
Boot Hill RV Park … what can I say about this place? It is wonderful! We stayed here in early February and again March 19-21, 2010. The spaces are wide and plenty long to accommodate our 37’ 5th Wheel plus plenty of room for our truck. The sites are almost totally level – only slightly off side to side - not enough to run up on levelers. The Internet access is free and much better than most. It cut out from time to time, but only for a few minutes. The rest of the time it was fast enough to feel quite comfortable and not the least bit frustrating. The scenery is awesome as the site is close to the beautiful mountains nearby. The owners are awesome, friendly and helpful. Hopefully they can afford to put in a pool/hot tub soon as that one addition would rate a 10. We recommend this park to anyone traveling near Alamogordo. We will most definitely stay here again and again. As a side note, there are too many things to see in this area to even scratch the surface in three days.
This was a great campground with super friendly staff and a very enjoyable stay. Our site was mostly level. Absolutely gorgeous scenery nearby. Only difficulty we had was when we were 95% set up, we were asked to move to a different site that had 50 amps even though we were happy to stay in the 30 amp site we had been escorted to. (Something about the fact that our 5th wheel is 50 amp capable, it was confusing.) Wish we would have been put in the correct site to begin with, but mistakes can happen to anyone. It turned out that the new site was actually a nicer site than the original one, so all's well that ends well, right? Only one other comment: this is certainly a dog friendly park, no unusual or unreasonable rules. However, the park map shows a fenced "dog relief area" which is not even as big as the living room in our 5th wheel. Not worth even going in, it's like a cage. We simply walked our little dog around in the gravel and picked up after her there. All that said, we would absolutely stay here again!
Rate reflects combined discounts from PA and Good Sam. We really enjoyed this campground. Our site was level side to side, but had to lower front significantly to achieve level front to back. Internet available but costs extra. Our Verizon cell and Internet worked great. Couple in office very accommodating and friendly. Very quiet area, easy to get to, big rig friendly. We stayed four nights and would definitely stay here again.
This is a great RV park. If it hadn't been pouring, it would have been even better, but you can't fault the park for that! We stayed for three nights and saw 4-5 deer every day. The site we were in was moderately level. Major problem we had was the poor cell phone reception. Three days without the ability to make phone calls in the RV was tiring, but if you simply want to relax, you can't do much better than this campground. We would definitely camp here again.
This is a nice park with level sites. One of the few times we have pulled in, unhooked and did not have to adjust leveling any direction. How awesome is that! The gentleman in the office was very friendly and helpful. Across freeway from airport, but the noise was negligible. Rate includes Good Sam discount. Would camp here again.
Wow! Buckhorn Lake Resort is the absolute definition of what an RV resort should be. Super friendly and helpful staff, wide/level spaces, beautiful grounds, awesome free Wi-Fi, great cable and much more. We would have stayed longer if we weren't on a deadline. We will definitely stay here again and cannot recommend this park highly enough.
The nightly rate refers to our ROD rate. We have camped here twice and will most definitely return. This is one of our favorite RV parks. Staff is friendly and helpful; beautiful area; no large cities nearby producing light pollution to interfere with the stars at night! Breathtaking views of the Milky Way. Highly recommended.
We camped here one night and overall had a pleasant stay. We would have no problem staying here again, although we wouldn't go out of our way to do so. The staff was friendly and helpful. The park has a nice, gated dog play area and as the name suggests, the beautiful Colorado River within walking distance. We gave a rating of 8 because we had large overhead lights right over our site (difficult to sleep), the cable produced a fuzzy picture, and the free Wi-Fi was limited to one hour before the need to pay. Not huge issues, but could be better.
We have camped at Orange Grove RV Park twice now, and I am sure we will camp there again. Very nice park, friendly staff, and free oranges in season! The only issue we have had is with the free Wi-Fi. It is certainly free, but you have to be in the sites fairly close to the antennas in order to get any reasonable signal. Otherwise, a great park. The orange trees are beautiful and add a great deal to the park's appeal.
Overall, I would rate this park well. It was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The permanent residents were in a separate section, but even that area was well maintained and did not present a problem at all. My only issues with the park are: first, the sites are extremely close to one another with very little space in between. We were fortunate that our site was at the end of a row, so that provided quite a bit more space; second, the ground is covered with large rock "gravel" and was difficult for our small dog to walk on. No grass and only a few trees here and there; second, the setting left a lot to be desired. It is right behind a fuel tank farm ... not much to look at there! It works fine for a place to stay while traveling. However, I would not recommend it for any extended stay.
This RV park is absolutely top notch. It is set on a lake that is beautiful and the sites are pristine. The staff, which includes a number of KOA Work Kampers, is extremely helpful and very friendly. The owner even went out of his way and came to our site to help us connect to the Internet. We highly recommend it to anyone who is traveling in the Fort Collins, Colorado area.
The facilities at the Sparks Marina RV Park are very nice and clean, and overall the staff is friendly and helpful. However, they advertise as a "pet friendly" park, which is simply not the case. There isn't one blade of actual grass ... it is all fake. Granted, it looks great and requires no watering and mowing, but pets are strictly forbidden to do any more than walk across it. They provide 3 "pet walks" which are no more than large fenced kitty litter areas. They have a layer of sand that is at most an inch thick on top of weed block material and it reeks of urine. We have a small dog and I was almost afraid to put her in there ... it was completely gross. I didn't have any choice though so I had her do her business as quickly as possible and then I took her back to our 5th wheel and washed her feet! Bottom line ... if you don't own a pet, this is a nice RV Park and you will probably love it. If you have a pet, go somewhere else.
