We loved our two day stay here in the Christmas season. The place is lighted and decorated to the max! There are 20 acres of nature trails through the piney woods, well marked, easy to walk and safe. We saw our first black bellied whistling ducks, a flock lives on the ponds. The whole place has a nice feel to it. We asked for a pull-through with a clear view of the sky for our satellite and they were very obliging. A great price too.
The rate reflects a week's stay at a site not on the river. This is a really nice RV park. The couple that runs it are very helpful, friendly, respectful, and happy. They keep the place very clean and orderly. Very quiet location off the road. Nothing but fields and trees on three sides of the park. We weren't crowded, but it was off season. I would definitely stay here again. The town of Chama does not have a lot to offer other than the Cumbres-Toltec Railroad, but the surroundings are very scenic and close enough to other towns and areas of interest.
This rate reflects a monthly rate. This is a small but perfect little RV park right in town, surrounded on two sides by meadows and mountain views. (Taco Bell on another side.) The only things that would improve it would be a pool and/or hot tub and a little more space between sites. As it is, there is nice grass and flowering shrubs between the sites, picnic tables and plenty of room for chairs, grill, bikes, etc. There's plenty of room to park extra vehicles too, for no charge even though they may tell you when you make reservations that it will cost you $25. Perfectly clean and lovely restrooms and laundry room. The managers and staff were great. They really take pride in maintaining a great place. More to do in the area than we could do in a month.
We stayed here for one month and found it an excellent facility in every way. Its location is great for seeing everything around San Diego. Driving around is easy. The campground is clean and very well maintained. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. The wi-fi can be spotty or slow at times, and the clubhouse is not open very often, at least not during the winter. Great bird watching, biking, dog walking. Sites of all different sizes. Sandy but packed solid. We'd definitely stay here again.
Exemplary park, with plenty of options for big rigs, as well as cabins and tent sites. Great facilities in every way. Two playgrounds, big pool, kiddie pool and 2 hot tubs. Plenty of room around the sites. The staff are very low key, and yet the place is spotless and managed very well. Quiet park, but with a little road noise, depending on your site. Nice dog area, and walking trail. Great access to many beautiful sights in the Black Hills. Spearfish is a really nice town for shopping and restaurants. Don't miss Sylvan Lake!
We stayed her for a month and a half, and loved it the whole time. I don't know the actual nightly rate. We got a monthly rate for the month we stayed, and then a nightly rate for the other nights, plus Good Sam discount. This area is spectacular, especially if you love the water. The campground is quiet, the staff are friendly and helpful, the place is well managed and clean. Large grassy off leash dog run. Grass between each site. Large trees throughout. Not a lot of space between sites, but enough. Views of the Mission Range from the campground. Golf right next door. Bike trail access from the park driveway. I'd stay here again gladly.
