We enjoyed this park thoroughly. Large sites on the river, very level with gravel. Hookups were arranged sensibly. Really nice lake, and plenty of boating access. Very quiet and nice neighbors. Camp store is only open weekends.

This campground is about 1 hour east of Fredericksburg in a rural section of Westmoreland County. It is located close to George Washington and James Monroe's birthplaces as well as Colonial Beach. The property sits between some cornfields and waterfront developments on the Potomac inlets. Layout is a linear arrangement of loops and most sites are pretty well shaded. Pool is nice, and all facilities seemed to be well maintained. The brochures mention Wi-Fi , but we couldn't seem to locate it. However, cell phone/3G signal is fairly usable. Very quiet campground, no discernible road noise or from other campers. Seems to be one of the more peaceful of the 1000 trails system. We enjoyed it.

Stayed overnight here. This is a county park. The sites are all on grass with unusual hookup arrangements. For the full hookup sites: really have put your thinking cap on to vector your rig in and be able to reach the facilities. That said, the sites are roomy and level. Nice playground for the kids and the chimneys are fun to explore. The staff were as friendly as can be, and other campers as well.

Stayed here for the Memorial Day weekend. The park is a membership park, part of the Thousand Trails system, thus there are a good proportion of permanent campers. They keep a number of "retail sites" for non-members. We stumbled upon this park after decided on a whim to camp for Memorial Day. They do this to drum up new members, so we were visited with a sales pitch a few times. Not a problem, the gentlemen was knowledgeable, and their "zone pass" seems to be a decent bargain. Location is good, pool and recreation facilities are good. However the Wi-Fi did not work in our Loop F. Several reviews mention excessive droppings from the many geese on the property. We didn't see any in our visit. We would return.
