We had stayed here before for one month; this time we stayed for 3 months, rate based on monthly rate plus electricity. Previous stay the Wi-Fi was terrible. It has been improved considerable, and is now very acceptable. The park is in a general state of deterioration: i.e. concrete on roads and sites breaking up very badly. The day we left we were told that the park has been sold, so time will tell whether it gets badly needed attention. We must say the social activities are good, line dancing, pot lucks, bingo, Texas Hold'em.
We stayed one night on our way back to Canada. The park is run very efficiently, is clean and very well maintained. Check in was friendly and swift. The train is not a problem, only heard it once. Would definitely stay here again, and for more than one night. Pleasant experience.
Being Snowbirds we generally stay here for a week under Coast To Coast on our trip to Texas. We have noticed a marked decline in maintenance over the past 6 years. This used to be a nice park, but now it's appearance makes you shudder as you enter. As far as Wi-Fi is concerned this is without question the worst I have ever encountered. 1mb/sec is just not acceptable in today,s world. There were times when I could not even get into e-mail. I mentioned this to the office on two occasions, nothing happened. I think we have had our last stay at this park. It is still a great family park, judging by the numbers of kids of all ages riding bikes and golf carts.
We have stopped here in past years for overnight rest on our way north. Park is clean, gravel roads and sites are in good condition. They now have Wi-Fi and it works good through most of the park. We used Coast, and would stay again.
Have stayed here under Coast the last several years heading north. Older campground, but clean and sites are basically level. Wi-Fi is in the main building, but with my Jeffa-teck antenna I could get internet in my trailer with an 80% signal. Would stay again for a few days, nice peaceful atmosphere.
We have stayed here for the last 6 years either going west or east. Last time here was Dec 08, Jan 09 for two months. At that time Wi-Fi was $20 per month and very good. This year we came in for six weeks, paid $25 permonth for very poor Wi-Fi. E-mailed management on the deterioration of Wi-Fi, was basically told "too bad"". Everything is more expensive here this year- cable, hydro. Having said that, I must say this is one of the nicer and well maintained parks we have visited. The streets are all paved, concrete patios at every site, where you park is very level and dry. Plenty of activity and pot luck meal every Sunday.
I would have given a 10 but for the flooding after some heavy rains. Considering the park is quite new, I would have thought they could have done a better job of drainage. Overall the park is spotless, the owners are very friendly, the sites adequate, and roads are paved. The laundromat was spotless. We stayed in a travel trailer for 2 nights, and would stay again. It is easy on/off to I-10, but not close enough to be noisy.
We stayed here 2 nights. Good level pull through site. The manager was helpful and friendly. They have satellite internet in the office and if you are close enough you can get a good signal. Skype does not work well on satellite setup. Very easy on/off I-10. Would stay again if passing through.
We stayed here one month, and found the other RV'ers very friendly. Sites are a little tight in some locations. We had some very heavy rains and there was an amount of flooding, but nothing too serious. My two complaints are the Wi-Fi is very slow, and the female manager is extremely argumentative, even to the point of telling me that Skype does not work in Texas. Skype does work in Texas but she will not believe it, the problem is the speed of the internet here. Pool is small but adequate, we didn't use it but if the weather had been warmer would have been refreshing. Streets are all concrete and wide, site pads are concrete also. Activities are planned most days or evenings. We would stay here for several months if the internet was up to par. I do not have to talk to the Manager.
We stayed on a monthly rate which was very reasonable. Park is small, roads are narrow but acceptable, sites vary from large to rather tight, but again acceptable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and seasonal residents are eager to welcome newcomers and invite to the cards, bingo, happy hours etc.. Excellent Wi-Fi. Have stayed in better and also much worse.
We have stayed at this park for two summers, six months each time. The monthly and seasonal rates are very good. This is the closest RV park to the City of Halifax, and is 8km from Peggy's Cove. Family owned and operated, very friendly staff. Roads are gravel, but are graded after any amount of rain. Sites are gravel but basically all level. Shaded and sunny spots, drive through and back in, and sites are quite large. Firewood is sold, no propane, but that is available nearby. Shopping (supermarkets, pharmacy, dentists, Md's vets) all within 10kms. Larger box stores about 20kms. Park faces St. Margaret's Bay, and there is a small beach from which you can swim. All in all a very relaxing park to spend time.
We used Coast To Coast membership. Were here four years ago and were not impressed then. This visit we were disgusted. The roads are full of holes and steep ridges. The sewer connection required me to buy an extra 20 feet of hose it was so far out of place. The site was small, rough ground. All in all a poor park, and we will never stop there again.
