Off season camping so the restrooms were closed. The campground was lovely. The facilities were very well kept. We were the only people camping here, but there were people using the park to walk, etc. It was a few miles away from the roads, so very peaceful and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Price with electricity during the summer season would be $17.
We arrived about 2:30 PM. The office was locked and had no number to call for service. A sign on the door said, "All units must be parked by the manager." Another sign said, "If you think you have reservations, you are at the wrong place." It felt unfriendly. Because of the 1st sign, we didn't feel we could pick a spot and come back to register when the office was open. What we saw of the facility, looked like the grass was long and not well kept. After waiting 10-15 minutes we left and stayed somewhere else.
I rated them a 9 instead of a 10 only because there was no shade. The site is beautiful with a good view in 180 degrees. The owners/managers obviously love what they do and love people. They are committed to everyone having a good time and feeling at home in their park. When the tides are right, they will take a group out clamming. Pot luck dinners around an evening campfire are a common occurrence. It is the only place on our 45-day Alaska stay that we met people and exchanged e-mail and phone numbers. We will definitely remember this as a place to recommend to others.
